Jokic stays on top following the Boston masterpiece and despite SGA having the better record.

He's got to make the playoffs to win it right? I know he's between 8-10 right now every other day. At least 8th seed to win it right? No way if he's not in the playoffs. Maybe play in?

It's Luka or Jokic right now.

Jokic is playing amazing but to be honest, Luka is playing even better. Luka just scored his 4th straight triple-double with 35+ points :o This is crazy. These are historical numbers.

Luka isn't playing better. Box score stats don't tell the story here.

I think it's likely to be Jokic, but we do fall into too much offense-oriented discussion here. SGA is an All Defense type at the guard position. Jokic is better than he used to be, but there's a big gap.

Kinda depends on how valuable you think all-defense at the guard position is, especially in this era. Nowhere near as impactful as being great on offense IMO. I mean look at Rudy Gobert. Best defensive player at the most important position and I don't think anyone considers him an MVP candidate or a better player than some of the all-offense, no-defense players.

Luka definitely should be in the MVP consideration talks. His season is a lot like Jokic's when he had to carry the team by himself. Dallas could win 46 games with Luka putting up all world stats carrying a scrub roster.

The difference is there wasn't a Jokic or SGA on a top three seed the year Jokic won it. You just can't ignore those two guys when they're having all world seasons as well.

I think Jokic will win this easier than people expect when the votes come out.

3-5 without Luka (.375)
+2.5 with Luka on floor

And to add, Kyrie has only played like 40 games this year but that’s more value than Jokic had that year.

You can give MVP to anyone you like, Joker could give less shyt.
One thing is obvious to anyone who watches BB, he is more valuable to his team than any other player and they are champs.
The rest is lipstick on the pig.

Broussard, who is an MVP voter, says he can't see anyone beating Jokic unless Jokic gets injured. Wright argues for Giannis.

Yeah I think Jokic wrapped this up. Weirdly enough, Thunder keeping their foot on the gas will also assure Jokic is MVP because he can't coast like last season. His team actually needs him to perform this way to get that 1st seed, and Denver, having a great homecourt advantage, absolutely wants that 1st seed.

(I think Nuggets will get the 1st seed rather easily)

Is Giannis MVP candidacy now over after losses to the 9th and 10th seeds?

He's 2 games behind the sure thing for the MVP whilst putting up comparable offensive numbers and playing better defence.

But yeah, he lost the narrative war before the season even started.

Jokic is better in all advanced stats, better defensive rating, better record while playing in the tougher conference.
Jokic won narrative war and the basketball war.
Defense wins draft lotteries!
