I hope whatever happened to Ochai yesterday doesn't keep him out. He left with knee soreness mid-game which is worrying. He needs as much time on court as possible.

These remaining games are crucial for Ochai to show what flashes he has. I have a feeling the Raptors will stick out his remaining 2 years and see where he develops. I'd argue he just needs to clean up his game a bit.

Reduce the fouls, learn how to keep mismatches accountable, and hit 3s above the break. Otherwise his relocation, corner shooting, lob threat, and POA defense have been great.

I'd like to see him against Simons tonight.

For the rest of this season, he needs to prove he can be a reliable shooter.

He’s back for next year for sure (unless he gets traded). The Jazz picked up his option for 24/25 back in Oct. I’d wager he gets his 4th year option picked up because at the pace we’re going it’s tough to see us getting anywhere close to the tax in ‘25/26.

Ochai Agbaji as a Raptor (11 games):
5.7 pts - 2.5 reb - 0.8 ast - 0.4 stl - 0.4 blk

Last two games (was a starter in both), 20.0 min playing time per game:
3.0 pts - 3.5 reb - 0.5 ast - 0.5 stl - 0.0 blk

I didn't like him from the very begining... Based on his stats playing for Utah, in two and a half seasons...
I'd like to be wrong, but I think I'm not!

The production is just way below where it should be. The only way I can see him being successful is by initially filling a PJ Tucker type of role. Then expanding his game from there with more threes and rim dives.

He's been great defensively though, as well as his rebounding.
I think his offense will pick up.
He's a long term project worth keeping and developing. He has all the tools to be successful.

Hasn’t been good. But he could be injured or playing through something.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

His next-year salary will be $4,310,280... It's not too much... And the year after that is a Team option...
It's not a risk... i don't mind giving him a chance... I really want to be wrong about him!:)

A correction.
This is his second year in the league, not third.

Let's be honest, 12 games in, take away that one 4/5 from 3 game, his shooting has been horrific. Clock is ticking.

Agbaji is almost 24. Surely you can make a better comparison than that?

So what? Players need to produce at some point. Time is limited for players like this.

Such a strange player. Seems like a very smart, humble kid from interviews. Elite measurements, above average athlete, and history as a shooter in college. Gets into the NBA and it's like poof disappeared. Hopefully he figures it out over the rest of the season.
