No, Jokic had a great game, + 10 +/-.

Kyrie hits game winner and Luka wins MVP… got it

Kyrie makes legends look legendary ask LBJ.

Either way Luka was a monster today as usual - 27 shots 37 points -

Luka had pretty bad q4, but I'm sure that even you would agree that his 3 26 seconds before the end was kinda crucial too?

Btw. Do you know how many 3s made Mavs' players, outside Luka and Kyrie? ;)

If you look at Kyrie from just skills perspective, he might be the best player in the league.

I’m not diminishing Luka he was LukaGod today - until he wasn’t - but even then - he was a monster as a threat - and it’s on Luka and Kyrie on who gets that shot - Luka can play MJ or LBJ and Kyrie can play Kerr or Cleveland kyrie AND that’s enough- I legit hate Kidd for not coaching this guy better -

At this point I think the mvp is still jokic but no one mad if SGA Giannis or Luka gets it -

Bye Lebron and Curry and Kd - the league in strong hands going forward -

No. You like those Espn morons are missing what Mavs needed and they finally got it with the trades. Better D and rebounding. Last year's Mavs with Powell as C, would have lost against Denver by 20+. Luka and Kyrie are good enough in ofense to beat anyone, if they had top10 D. They have won today with other players go 0/13 for 3, but they defended and rebounded extremely well.

In the moment Mavs team D improves, they're extremely dangerous, as we have seen today. Winning against top Nba team with shooting only 25% for 3 was mission impossible before this season.

Oh wow.

Considering how trigger happy the media is to rob Jokic, I thought this was gonna be a bigger game than it was.

The type of games that truly matter was when Giannis beat Embiid in Philadelphia. He had the block on Embiid.

Luka won't get Mvp, but I'm pretty sure that getting Mavs in first round is the most undesirable thing for first 4 teams.

Only Doctor MJ might like Luka's team to play against his team. ;)

Pelicans are scarier IMO.

Playoffs is about half court ofense, Luka and Kyrie duo might be the best in that. The question is, can Mavs play good enough D? It's starting to look that they might.

Oh I've been pretty clear that Luka is scary as hell as a playoff opponent.

Are the Mavs the most undesirable non-Top 4 seed? Not sure, but they have a case. The funny thing is that so many of these lower seeded teams have super-scary superstars (Luka, KD, Steph, LeBron). We might see another year where half the 1st round matchups in the West are seed upsets.

More generally: I see Denver as the clear fave to come out of the West, but I'm not sure who I think is second-most likely. OKC deserves a ton of praise for the year and for their future, but I'm going to want to see more of them in the playoffs before I see them as a top contender for the chip.

Mavs are scary to OKC and the Clippers. Denver will handle them. Wolves would be fun to have for Luka vs Edwards, but I see the Wolves wining in 7.

How is that possible? If you believe that very big sample size shows that he's not impactful player, how is possible to turn on different metrics overnight?

I would say that Luka is much nearer to his prime that others you mentioned and Kyrie being pretty phenomenal after returning from injury. Mavs are 13/6 after his return. Mavs would have been much better, if they didn't have so many problems with injuries and playing the whole season together. Their standings are not realistically presenting their current power.

Denver is favourite against anyone, but Mavs now at least have 2 Cs to be thrown against Jokic. Last year it would have been Powell.

....for now.
If they don't get any serious injury and considering their remaining schedule comparing to the other teams they are competing with for PO spots, they can easily make the top 5 in the west.

Jokic will win MVP this year…I really think it will be Luka next year though. He will definitely win one at some point, probably sooner rather than later.
