I thought this Auburn team would get to sweet 16. They've had momentum. They have maturity. They've been playing together for a while. Pearl is just dense sometimes. It's also a flawed roster. But you count on maturity of players to play above their level at this time. That's what happens with successful runs. Didn't happen.

I know a lot of people liked both coming into the tournament so you're not the only one. I wasn't as high, had Florida out in 2nd round, though thought Auburn make it to sweet 16.

I picked Yale to win

I wouldn't have been as adventurous to make that pick. What basis did you pick Yale? Talent wise and experience wise Auburn was better.

I couldn't even tell you. I pick one 13/4 upset per year and that was the one I went with this year. Bruce Pearl just kinda sucks as an in game coach, maybe that was my justification.

Sucks...one of my toughest picks was SDSU or AUB, but I finally went with AUB after talking to my boss at work (who went to Arkansas..he told me how tough AUB was). Oh well. Hopefully Yale wins the next one to take out SDSU since I will miss that one regardless.

I like Oats as a coach, but never liked Bama's perimeter coming into the season. They're starting 3 guards, 2 of them are shorter than 6' and short arms. Just way too small for college ball. And their center is a real skinny and soft 6'11" PF. Yes they score a ton of points against lesser opponents, but they dry up when facing taller tougher perimeter defense who don't turn over the ball. Funny enough he isn't starting Nelson for some reason.

Bama and Charleston is a fun game. Fast pace hectic both teams run up and down the court with lots of active hands.

Poor Huskers.

Northwestern Wildcats broke their drought finally winning an NCAA tournament games (2017) now has 3 wins in the NCAA Tournament in their history since then . Last year and today as well.

Nebraska still remains the only Power 5 Conference team without an NCAA Tournament win in their history.
That's nuts.

Watching Houston's elite defense is entertaining. Jamal Shead is a dawg.

I know! Very odd and unfortunate.

I know that Northwestern had struggled for years (especially during the '80s and '90s) and when they had good seasons, they had just missed out on bids, the bubble. Happened so often during the '90s and '00s (when they got better) . Would get snubbed for bids a few times during the '10s. Relegated to the NIT instead, they would end up there often.
But, when they finally broke through in 2017, as a bubble team. Their first ever NCAA Tournament bid (at the time the only Power 5 Conference team to never get a bid) They took advantage of that occasion/feat, made the most of it ! Beating Vandy in the 1st round in the NCAA Tournament. 2nd round, they gave Gonzaga fits, nearly upsetting the Zags. Gonzaga ended up in the NC game that season (UNC)
Then of course, last season being their 2nd ever bid, this season being the 3rd ever bid. They won the 1st round both times (vs Boise State and vs FAU). Last year nearly upsetting UCLA in the 2nd round.
So , it
s safe to say, that the Wildcats has never been blown out in these NCAA tournament games. They make the most of it.
Although, not much of a history in the NCAA Tournament. New found success for them. Been in the Big 10 forever.

Nebraska (football school back in the days, powerhouse)...... on the other hand. Has had plenty of chances so far, spread out over decades. Not a lot, but has had the opportunities. Big 8/Big 12 and now in the Big 10, Terrible some years during the '70s, but some good ones. Same during the '80s and '90s. The good years they would end up in the NIT mostly. Finally got an NCAA Tournament bid during the mid '80s. Lost to WKU (strong mid major basketball school) 1st round.
Then they ended up with 5 more bids during the '90s. Lost all of them in the 1st round (vs Xavier, UConn, New Mexico State, Penn Quakers, Arkansas). Basically losing to teams that are mostly basketball schools. lol
Then the '00s they struggle here and there. Losing seasons or some good seasons (NIT).
2010s, recent. Lose to Baylor and TAMU (today).

8 tries. 0-8 so far. Just tuff luck.
Hopefully they finally get a win in the Tournament someday soon.

I'm so happy to see James Madison laying wood on another soft Big10 team. Where is all that Alumni and TV money going to?
