Mavs essentially added their Battier/ Ray allen and Birdman in terms of impactful pieces. Ones Riles missed out on getting. I was upset then and hurts even more now when those prices are key cogs in defeating the Heat.
You are over thinking it. Mavs are succeeding because they found their LeBron and D-Wade. The Heat have plenty of quality role players, but lack the star power.
Jimmy/Bam simply isn’t good enough as your top two options on offense.
Yeah its what people don't seem to come to grips with, we are successful with Bam/Jimmy when and only when we have great 3pt shooting, because the spacing it creates allows both of them to go 1v1 with their defender. As Jimmy keeps getting older this continues to go down but were only as successful as the other role players allow our stars to operate. Kirie and Doncic don't need their role players to be successful, they are the offense in essence, they can create for themselves even in double teams, in a 1v1 matchup they have the advantage all the time, they also can score at will at whatever spot on the floor, they don't need to penetrate to break you down, they can both bomb you from downtown. This build the reason why Miami is never top 10 on offense rating is because were not build that way, we play gritty, hard nose defense, force turnovers and try to find your weakness to exploit that but were always in close games, we don't have the offensive firepower to overwhelm you unless were like shooting lights out from range.
