Hell it might has well have, we have 4 games left this season including our play in losses, maybe 8 if we miraculously win a game and get the 8th seed to get swept by Boston. This team isn’t giving us anything to talk about might as well move to the offseason.

The only way we land Mitchell is if Mitchell tells everyone he will only resign with the Heat. Mitchell is a star, but not Kawai. Kawai becomes available you tell him "That's cute" and still trade for him. Mitchell not so much. And this is not a Dame situation. Mitchell's contract only has one season left in it. You trade anything big for a guy who told you he would not resign with you if you trade for him, and he does exactly what he said he was going to do and leaves for nothing.... you're getting fired. No GM would do that. And I don't think any team looks at themselves and says "We're just one Donovan Mitchell away from a championship, let's trade everything for him even if for only one season".

There are worse options out there for the Cavs than Terry Herro Jaime Jovic and a couple 1sts for an expiring player in Mitchell. We’ll see what happens

Not ready to cash my Jaime coins yet, but yea', a line on Donovan would be a great move for course correction of the org (though I don't think we're on a bad course, just at a turning point in which one or two bad moves could cause our foundation to crumble)

If the Heat go after Donovan they still need to make a move for a second star.

Guy is the thing is not that bad, Don't panic, We are just second to third tier, With More than a couple good players in it and a more than OK coach.

We just need a renewed mentality
And a superstar Added to the players we already have

Then we could be A Championship contender And make it fun

I am a firm believer its not, not with this version of Jimmy at least. We will come to terms with what Jimmy is in the next 4 games here. You take Herro off this team, and put Donovan, and wed be slightly better just on the analytics of Donovan being the better player and better scorer, that fixes issue 1 out of 50 of this teams build. We would still probably be 3rd seed based on the potential between how close all the seeds are after 2nd place. However we wouldn't be able to beat any of the top 5 best from the western conference and Boston would also beat us with their current team. We would lose in 6 in the ECF.

Yes. To truly elevate ourselves over what we are now, wed have to swap Jimmy out for someone like Luka. That aint happening. Thats why Ive always been a proponent of drafting your star. You may whiff, but youve got to try. We drafted our superstar 21 years ago. Havent drafted a superstar since and havent won a chip without him. Get your megastar then build. I can only imagine our future with a Wemby, Luka, or possibly Antman with the crew we have.

What Jimmy does this playoffs is pointless about next year. Jimmy is heading towards to being Joe Johnson. Next season he will be 35 years old.

This is still months away but if donovan wants to force his way here, aka not agree to any extensions with whoever trades with CLE... obviously the trade offers will be less than what they would hope and risky for the team.

Nets have draft capital but cavs would never take Ben simmons. Would they want cam johnson making 3-66 next three years? He has always been linked to NY but nets need salary matching and Knicks don't make sense se with Brunson and good deals w/ mcbride DVV.

Lakers could make sense. Lebron could force it for a chance at a ring. They have picks and player matching. And if donovan leaves lebron would probably leave also to play with his kid after forcing lakers hand one more time to make a trade "or else".

Anyway. Let's see how these playoffs shake out lmao.

If Heat beat Raptors, Brooklyn beat 76ers, Bucks beat Magic and Hawks beat Pacers - and we are all 46-36, what is the 4 way tiebreaker?

I don't think any of those are impossible, Hawks barely lost in Minnosota tonight. Philly are working Embiid back, Bucks have something to lose in their seeding. Of course, we are all so used to Miami giving us blue balls in these situations and I could see all those playing out and us losing to Toronto anyway.
