I actually thought he was going to be the best player from the draft class. It's crazy how he's hardly improved.

I don’t get the vibe he loves basketball

It's the single biggest risk of drafting a big - that they're just playing basketball because they were so much bigger than their peers growing up, and are looking to get paid for their size alone.

Exhibit A - Andrea Bargnani.

That's why finding those guys who started as guards and then had a massive growth spurt in Grades 10-12 may be the way to go.

But I don't get the vibe that Edey is like that. Not saying I want him, although he may be BPA if the Pacers pick is #19 or 20.

anyways it is what it is ... 18, 19 0r 20

I think it’s more likely that the pick is below 18 than over 19

But indeed #18 or #19 are arguably most likely outcome.

Everything would have to go wrong for it to be 20.
Its gonna be 18 or 19 unless ATL plays out of their mind. Philly a lock

What would be the tie break should Lakers and Pacers both win AND Lakers/Suns entering the playoffs

Should Orlando win as well.

Could our pick become #17? Or Pacers win tie break with LAK?

You can definitely see the passion from Edey when he talks. Just look at his body transformation, you don't go through all that hardwork if you don't love what you do.

Now whether it translates into success at the nba level is still TBD but I'll be cheering for him no matter where he goes.

If Orlando wins, they finish ahead of the Pacers. So that's a big game for the pick.
I doubt Trae goes off and beats the Pacers by himself, but it would be fantastic if he did. Show he can be a difference maker before he gets traded.

I like Collier here. The shooting sucks but his passing isn't terrible, he was high TOs but that's a good sign in a young guard. I like how he adds pressure to the paint, creates his own shot, and he's a guy that can lock into defense. He would be a good back up point guard option.

Evan Mobley has a very chill demeanour. Hard to say how he feels about basketball or wanting to win. You might say he's like Tim Duncan in that way. However...Duncan always knew he was the **** but never was one to show it in his emotions. So his level of competitiveness and love for the game was never in doubt. Bill Simmons is like the biggest Evan Mobley fan and compared him to KG of all people...and I'm like...NO **** WAY is Mobley anything like KG as a competitor.

Compare that to Wemby as I said in another thread yesterday...dude knows he's the best and wants everyone to know it too. He'll rip your head off if it means he wins and he'll trash talk about it after as well. If anyone has the personality of KG it's Wemby (of course much taller and better at basketball than KG of course).

I see Edey as a more fiery personality. That's going to help him. I saw lots of emotion during March Madness. That alone tells me he cares and that he wants to win. He's skilled as well. He's not just a rim running big.

best scenario imo

If Orlando and Philadelphia win, Indiana loses and regardless if Miami wins or loses, it’s No. 5 Philadelphia, No. 6 Orlando, No. 7 Indiana and No. 8 Miami.

Gonna need a lot to go our way today. Hard to see Orlando and Atlanta winning but would be great

I don't see the Pacers losing so my main concern is nailing down that 31st pick and not having to rely on a coin flip. Spurs aren't playing Wemby against Detroit and no matter who the Celtics play, it will tough for the Wiz.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

ESPN had a pretty good breakdown of the possible scenarios.

In all likelihood, Indy is going to face Cleveland in the 1st round (either as 4 vs 5, or 3 vs 6) , and NY will face Philly (either as 3 vs 6, or 2 vs 7) if everything goes as it should. The reason for those matchups being seeded differently, but still being the same teams facing each other, hinges on the Milwaukee-Orlando game.

Would be surprised if Atlanta can pull it off without Johnson, Capela, and Okongwu. Siakam and Turner are gonna eat
