Re: **NBA Draft Discussion 2024**
My biggest problem with the Bronny discourse is that he obviously has potential, but has literally everyone else at the combine. He hasn't shown anything particularly exceptional, yet people have the most pie in the sky optimism for his game and future in the NBA. Players that dominate college and even kill it at the combine have gone on to do nothing in the NBA. But apparently the guy that averaged like 5 pts a game is a top 60 player in this draft.

Maybe this year’s Coulibaly. Would be such a Spurs pick no doubt
He’s probably Wemby’s boy too. Makes sense.
I still want Topic/Knecht/Carter/McCain.

Can't wait to see what Tidjane Salaun is like in 2-3 years. He's got the mold to be a valuable 3&D forward, he's just so damn raw right now. One moment he looks like Michael Porter Jr with D, the next he looks like a middle schooler playing gym class basketball. Hopefully he puts it together.

I watched a video recently where some analyst id never seen before go absolutely out of his way to detail Bronnys limitations. Ive never seen mainstream media just blast a prospect like that before. Basically said hes undraftable. The media surrounding him is a circus and it feels like some type of balance was trying to be struck. Wild.

I may be being pessimistic, but a player with such low production, medicore size, and recent health scares wouldn't be drafted most years. Most guys in his position go back to college for atleast another season. And even then they might not make it.

Top 5 targets :
1) Isaiah Collier - Upside is a Morant/Maxy hybrid. Improving the shooting is the swing skill for him.
2) Devin Carter - High probability of becoming a good 2 way guard that can help with defense, rebounding, passing and some scoring.
3) Carlton Carrington - looks like a very fluid, big young PG. Can he work on his body and get to the paint more? if he can, high upside.
4) Kel'el Ware - Might become Myles Turner 2.0, can block shots, very big and mobile, can score inside, natural scoring touch with a potential to be a stretch 5 with his 3 point shot.
5) Kyle Filipowski - high probability to become a decent versatile big that can do abit of everything, decent defense, some passing, scoring. Maybe like a Kelly Olynyk with better defense.

Do you think this fanbase can deal with a project like Carrington?

I think he could get minutes straight away as a backup PG and some minutes at SG, especially if we move Herro.
In any case if we keep the pick it means we didn't trade for a star which means we're no contending so I'm fine with taking a higher upside less ready player.
Anyway our offense is so chit that even an inexperienced player like Carrington could help our scoring.
Devin Carter makes more sense if we trade Mitchell and just need a supporting ready now player, but if we don't trade for a star Carrington brings a higher upside which is what we should aim for.

If he inherited his father's work ethic, then it's probably worth the gamble.
I'm not sure how Spo would feel about coaching a kid that has already had an episode of cardiac arrest though.

Collier strikes me as more of a Baron Davis/Eric Bledsoe like player than Maxey or Ja. More burly and strong than lightning quick or a big leaper.
