Easier said than done, particularly when talking about bench players.
Nuggets got lucky with Brown and got him cheap because teams didn’t value him as much as they should have (he was playing well in Brooklyn). It would have been wild for them to sign him up to some longer deal from day one though.
They were never going to be able to keep him once a team threw some money at him.
That’s the reality with the CBA. Teams really have to strike while the iron is hot because their depth will quickly disappear as seasons go on and salary implications hit.
