In 2007/08 people forget that the Lakers were #1 in the west with 20 year old Bynum, 22 yo Ariza, Odom, Walton, Kwame Brown, 21yo Farmar, Fisher aka the worst championship starting pg until Chalmers, Radmanovic and Vujacic. Probably a 30 win team without him.

WTF am I reading here.

Ultimately above Kobe, depends who you ask but that’s pretty much TD and Shaq level. That’s ELITE company.

At age 31, Duncan has 4 championships, 3 FMVP, 2 MVP, numerous all nba and 1st team all defense.

Jokic might have a shot given his 3 MVPs. Luka and SGA could get there but long shots. The rest have no chance.

Bynum was playing like an up and coming all-star 5 man, and then when he got hurt Pau tagged in and the Lakers went on a huge run to close the season. Odom was an all-star quality player. Fisher was a solid point guard, you're vilifying him ridiculously. Kwame was a solid 5. Radmanovic was a good player too. That looks like a fine support cast, that became an elite one when Pau arrived.

The Lakers were only 1st in the West because teams started slow. If they never traded for Pau they aren't anything like first in the West. They were 30-16 before getting Pau. Over the full season that winning % would have been good for 6th in the West and a 1st round exit.

look, KG is like a top 5 talent ever, but he wasted his prime on the TWolves. I believe he’d outdo Duncan if on the Spurs

Only Jokic so far.

Because a lot of you saying he’s not aren’t measuring what a clutch Shooting Guard does compared to a Center.

If he wins another title he’s absolutely further into the conversation. He’s playing without multiple allstars and puts up historic stretches of ridiculous numbers.

Sorry if that hurts people’s feelings.

Kobe was playing without any All stars before Pau and had the Lakers playing as a contender. No matter how much you try to fluff the players around him or make excuses as to why they had the record they did pre Gasol.

30-16 before Pau with no All Stars. Those are the facts. They were a contender pre Gasol.

So it only made sense that when Pau did come in, they became one of the juggernauts. If the Celtics Super team didn't form, Kobe would have led the Lakers to their second 3 peat within 10 years. And all that was added was another All star level player. That's all Kobe really needed to win titles. That's why it's insulting to even mention these other guys.

Jokic has his All star and can't even go back to back. Same with Giannis. Excuses. Kobe was and will remain above all these guys until these players can prove otherwise. Without excuses. The only players right now who will ultimately rank above Kobe is the GOAT himself, Lebron, and Steph Curry. That's it.

Kobe is definitely not top 5 all time. You can debate if he is top 10.

Alot of ppl have magic in their top 5. Kobe has a better career/resume than magic due to better longevity and higher peak I don't see how kobe is not in the top 5 other than bias/hate for the man.

All the other guys are below right now. SGA, Giannis maybe could rank above Kobe at the end, but I am not sure about that. Luka is probably the next guy who could actually join Jokić in this debate, but he has a long way to go.

I am not the biggest Kobe fan, maybe overall I do NOT think he is overrated, I just think his stans are definitely the most delusional bunch out of the entire sport. But that being said, at the end of the day, Kobe has five NBA championships and was top 3 player in the world for more than a decade, maybe his talent and level could be exceeded, but his actual career most likely wont, for any of these guys not named Jokić.
None as Kobe is the last sport LEGEND in my book, who not only was unstoppable in most clutch situations during his career but also promoted the sports in helping many youths to attend his camp to become better than the thug life in their area due to his foundation that has left a lasting legacy that still continues to this day. With all due respect, Jokic will be lucky to reach that level of excellence. Maybe when your Joker gets his statue built in front of the arena which likely not happen with only one finals appearance to his name unless he's able to motivate his own teammates like MPJ to play better in big moments.

Joker and Luka for sure but probably none of the rest of that bunch. Dirk is my guy and Garnett was a beast but Kobe was just a better player than both of them. Giannis had a short peak. Durant has never done anything without Curry. Embiid and SGA of course not.

None.. Luka has a shot but he would have to win as much as Curry and that’s not likely

Those saying Jokic are buggin.. if Jokic and Kobe played together Jokic wouldn’t be the first option
