The problem here is that Clark hasn't said anything. Everything that you are attributing to her is 100% media driven by ESPN.

Also, I don't understand why she should have had to join a league to play with washed up nba players in their 40s and 50s to play pro hoops. Do you even watch the WNBA? Because this statement leads me to believe otherwise and you're not here to contribute in a positive manner

Bro she got shoved on a non basketball play.

That's the freaking point! Why is this even a big deal? Didn't Reese get body slammed just a few games ago?

It seems like Clark is just a media puppet at this point. Her game right now is not matching the hype. Either step up or stop making a big deal out of this girl. You can't have it both ways.

...Clark was literally named rookie of the month yesterday. She is a really good player who is, like every other rookie that came before her minus Candace Parker, adapting to the league. It's only been a month.

She's literally the only reason you're paying attention now, am I right? That's a good thing! But give her some time bro damn

I think the issue is, fans who turned eyes on the league because of CC are the ones who have been receiving a rude awakening...people vastly underestimated just how good WNBA players are, and it shows because we have folks openly wondering why a rookie isn't torching the league from day 1.

I predict the Caitlin Clark we saw in May will be vastly inferior to the CC we see in July.

Bro I said before she even joined the league people better lower their expectations for her.

My point is stop overhyping this lady. The more she is in the news for petty stuff like this the more tough it will be for her. She's not even close to being the best player in the WNBA. Let the hype die until she actually starts living up to the hype.

This is a fantastic segment with Monica McNutt being on Shannon Sharpe's Nightcap show.

Monica knocks this out of the park. Yall I encourage to watch this. There are multiple things at play here. This is competition!!

To your point, again, she just made ROTM. The wins aren't there, because that's what happens to rookies on bad teams(hey Wemby!), but she after a month in she isn't doing bad at all, 15/5/6.

Not everyone is going to be Candace Parker. Sheryl Swoopes, DT all warned people that there was a learning curve for rookies and ppl didn't listen.

It's a process no different from anyone else. When the game slows down for her, watch out for Caitlin Clark. That's all I'll say  quote me on it lol

Candace Parker won MVP in her rookie season. She got none of this hype. I understand social media wasn't quite as popular back then, but still you get the point.

Show me why you are the best. I don't like all this hype without the production. It makes the league look like they have an agenda. This is a non story that happens in basketball on a daily basis. Cheap shots are common in basketball.

Reese got body slammed it was a non story. If we going to call out cheap shots do it for every WNBA player that gets cheap shotted. Don't just make this a Clark hate issue. She's not the only one getting physical play from other players.

Not that I don’t personally hear what you’re saying, but there’s a clear agenda.

Oh I agree about making more money. But that cheap shot should have not been the #1 topic in sports.

When Clark starts dominating again that's when this money train will really take off. My issue is don't make Clark untouchable in the media eyes. This topic getting this much traction is why players are coming hard after her. Just be fair to everyone in the WNBA.

It's the media, ESPN and social media driving this moreso than the league in my opinion. I doubt the league would have even raised the Carter foul to a F1 if it wasn't for folks acting like Chennedy tried to kill CC.

And yep, I agree. She's not the only one. Diana Taurasi aired another rookie out like in Week 1 and no one cared

I get she is the face of the WNBA.

My problem is don't put her on a pedestal and treat her different then every other player who has already put in the work before her. This is a non story and ESPN and social media made it the biggest story.

When other players who get fouled and don't get that same treatment how do you think that makes them feel?

Just be fair to all players and this Clark hate will stop. She has every right to earn that face of the league. Right now she's going to have to prove it on the court. The media being on her side will only make it tougher. Hopefully she pulls through because it won't be easy.

It was a clear cheap shot and absolutely deserved to be a flagrant 1. The refs just blew the call.
Can you imagine if someone did that to Wemby in his first month of the season. They'd probable be ejected, and rightfully so as it wasn't a basketball play at all.
I can't wait for the WNBA to get more skilled players in and for these scrub ass wannabe gangsters to wash out of the league. The WNBA is like the NBA in the '80s right now. A lot of players who are very physical and good athletes, but frankly can't shoot or pass worth a damn for professional basketball players.
But more women with real skills are coming. Juju Watkins, Paige Beuckers, etc. League will be a lot better in a couple years.

OK, but Chennedy Carter is not a scrub. In fact, you could make a fair argument that she's having a better year than Caitlin statistically. Moreover, she outplayed Caitlin in the actual game.

We had Ron Artest in the league for a long time. You telling me if someone elbowed Ron Artest and started talking smack to him that something similar wouldn’t happen? We know it would happen, because it did.

The difference, we did not take Artest’s actions as indicative of the league at large.

Not necessarily meant to quote you. Mobile app is acting weird.

I disagree with you 100%. This is a horrible, embarrassing take.

The league is really good right now, there are a ton of talented and highly skilled players across the board. We actually need more teams because good young talent is getting shut out due to lack of roster spaces. This notion that players can't shoot or pass is blatantly false. Kelsey Plum can't shoot or pass? Sabrina? Bruh I'm embarrassed for you.

I'm trying to ease up on some takes like this, because having new eyes on the sport is good and i hope you will keep paying attention to the WNBA, but I gotta be blunt: you clearly do not watch the league regularly if you're making malicious statements like this about the league's players.

Can you name the players who are "scrub wannabe gangsters"? Surely you don't mean Alyssa Thomas, one of the best players in the history of the sport? Stewie? A'sa? Kelsey? Sabrina? Arike? Jewel?

Name names my man.

None of the 144 players that make up the W are scrubs. Chennedy Carter is a very good player.

This is a league where first round picks get CUT because the talent pool is so packed.

Guys need to actually watch games. That's all I will say.

Would you say the NBA in the '80s is as skilled as today, because of Magic, Bird and Jordan?
No way, even those players would still be dominant right now.
Of course the great players in the league are very skilled, that's what makes them great.
But the fact is, 5 out of 12 teams in the league shoot below 33% from 3. Almost half the league can't even make 1 out of 3 from distance bro.
Yes, it's more skilled than before. Still has a long way to go imo. You can be embarrassed for me if you want but I think the league will be much better in 5-7 years. Feel free to disagree if you think we've reached the apex of talent and skill in women's basketball.
I see the game still getting exponentially better starting with the youth leagues. There's just way more opportunity and competition than there was even a decade ago. Maybe I'll be wrong, we'll see, but save the embarrassment. I've been watching the WNBA for about a decade btw, definitely not claiming to be an expert just giving my somewhat-informed opinion.

She's definitely having a good year, but it's been 7 games.
There's a reason she's on her 3rd team in 4 seasons, even though she was a top-5 pick.
Hopefully she's turned a corner, but she's never been close to an All Star level player or anything. I think it's fair to say she's been a massive disappointment thus far in her pro career.

None of the 144 players that make up the W are scrubs. Chennedy Carter is a very good player.

This is a league where first round picks get CUT because the talent pool is so packed.

Guys need to actually watch games. That's all I will say.

She's a guard that shoots 28% from 3 on low volume and has an assist/turnover ratio of 2.7/2.1.
She's been better this season, but we'll have to see if it continues (it's been 7 games).
"Very good player" is a stretch. She's on her 3rd team in 4 years and got cut by her last team.
First round picks get cut by NBA teams too, btw.
I love women's hoops, but it's ok to be critical of female athletes just like we are male athletes.

Can't disagree with any of that. I really hope she keeps it up because the Sky is my team. Also, she's very fun to watch.

In a few hours i'll be heading out to the arena to watch the home debut of the Sky Towers. Hopefully, years from now, i'll be able to say I witnessed some history. Regarding the actual game, I have no doubt the Liberty have revenge in their eyes. Bracing for a possible blowout lol

8-0 Sun vs 0-8 Mystics today, could we see a 50 point defeat? 100 point defeat? Exaggeration yes, but what a gap. Sun are -13.5 points.

I'm curious, since a new team is coming in next year how will the draft go? Will Paige be automatically gifted to the Valkyries will the 1st pick go elsewhere
