I don't hate KP but he does not elicit positive feelings. He was a gigantic letdown and his ego ended up hurting the Mavs when he was upset at Rick Carlisle. There's also a weird vibe between him and Luka. You can tell they didn't like each other which is bizarre because they are both from a similar part of the world, speak the same languages and had a similar journey. A real shame it didn't work out.

Boston easily. We traded KP, Kyrie snaked Boston in free agency. I don't even have a particularly strong dislike for KP, I can think of quite a few other Mavs players over the years more worthy of hate

Boston fans because he did them what they did to IT,Bradley and Olynik just a few years before so he destroyed their beloved warchest. Hate towards Porzingis was just siding with Dončić.

The IT thing was such a bad situation. The city loved him so much. But what should they have done? Given him a max?

Kyrie. Not even close. He kept running his mouth, disrespecting the fanbase.

Boston fans will most likely only trash talk Kyrie, the hate is real. Hopefully they stfu when it comes to Luka.

lol. Sure, Kyrie gets no blame- it's the Boston fans that are the problem.

Hate for KP? Nah, he made it clear he didn't want to be in Dallas. Mark Cuban went to convince him with his current contract.

It's always bestto have players that are reliable and KP came to Dallas after suffering a serious injury

Real question is why do non-partisan fans seem to dislike Boston more than Dallas- when last year Dallas poached a disgruntled player that quit on his prior team then immediately went from a trade deadline buyer to a tanker for a lotto pick.

Was kind of an unappealing turn of events to reward but somehow the GB pop of unaffiliated fans seems to be overall behind Dallas.

That’s the more spicy question lol (ducks).

I think people just don't like the Celtics and Boston in general. Not saying this is true or not, but Boston fans are viewed as cocky and arrogant, that's just my experience which is based entirely on internet forums, albeit a couple of decades there (European fan who has been active on sports forums at least since 2006 or 2007).

Right in a neutral setting I tend to lean towards the underdog as well. Haven’t read all the gb threads but I’m not sure Boston is the more clearly cocky fan base here though.

Just interesting that the underdog angle overshadows what I mentioned above.

I think winning just generally make certain fan archetypes more arrogant, and when it's the teams with the largest number of fans like the Celtics or Lakers, then it's going to be just a higher number of fans who are, well, behave in a certain way. And although the Celtics hasn't won since 2008, it's still a winning franchise, made two finals since and a bunch of ECFs, and obviously, the Patriots angle is there.

In this similar part of the world, Eastern Europe, every country dislike another with the exception of Russia / Serbia relationships :) And no, Slovenia and Latvia doesn't share the same language, however Doncic and KP both speak English.

They have two totally different personalities. KP is more stoic or business like whereas Luka is more like a kid, at least at time KP was in Dallas. Luka liked to play video games, and was always laughing and joking. KP being the more serious type just didn’t mesh well with Luka. Plus I could see Luka getting frustrated with KP always being injured.

As a Mavs fan though I don’t hate KP. I actually wish him well, just not in this series.

Boston for Kyrie

I've posted this before but will do so again. It's 2018, Tatum is a rookie and Brown is a second year player. Kyrie has surgery on April 5 to remove two screws from his knee that had gotten infected and is out for the year.

Against the odds, the young Celtics sans Kyrie make it to the EC finals in a 7 game series with Cleveland. They have a 6 point lead going into Q4 of game 7 but Rozier suddenly can't find the basket and LeBron does his thing. They lose.

In those entire playoffs Kyrie did not attend a single game or practice. He never sat behind the bench to offer encouragement to his young teammates. Never said anything, never gave an interview, nothing. He was off doing his own thing. It was the worst lack of empathy, sportsmanship, whatever you want to call it, that I've ever seen. He was the star giving his young teammates the finger.

It's just not forgivable.

Not sure why Mavs fans would hate KP....
