More fuel for the fire. Can’t wait for the narrative change from ESPN.

Time to turn the Mavericks into Goose and take down their paper airplanes! So sick of hearing how great their defense is like Lively isn't a rookie who can't create any offense, and Gafford wasn't just some guy in Washington leading the Muggles nowhere as KP's BACKUP the season before. So sick of hearing what a difference maker PJ Washington is like he wasn't the same guy who the Jays have destroyed in Charlotte for half a decade. His stats aren't even better than his career, except a minutes uptick so let's quit acting like he's a part of their new "Big 3". So sick of hearing how the two of them lead the vaunted 7th ranked playoff defense (oh my!) and how Luke and Kyrie are so magical leading the 6th round playoff defense (wow almost out of the middle of the pack)! So sick of hearing how easy our path was like we didn't dominate the 82 game regular season not just the last 20 games like the Mavs. Even that last 20 games is so weird to brag about because they literally played 5 playoff teams and went 3-2 while beating the Heat twice (you know the Heat we just beat 4 out of 5 times and 7 out of 8 times for the whole season). Make it a 23 games sample size and suddenly the narrative isn't so exciting as it included 3 Eastern Conference playoff teams they lose to in a row. Lose to us in Boston by 28, in Dallas against the Embiid-less Sixers getting destroyed by Harris and Oubre Jr. on the wings for a combined 49 points (oh wait we have some decent wings on our team), and the apparently not very good Pacers in Dallas by 17. They gave up almost 132 ppg in that stretch, but again doesn't fit the defensive juggernaut narrative so won't count those. So sick of it being ignored that we EARNED the #1 seed so if we got an easier path it's because we took care of business to get there. Nobody mentioned the incredibly easy path the Nuggets had last year playing 3 play-in teams and a banged up Suns team on the way to a title, so why us?!?! Sick of no one mentioning Kawhi missed 4 of their 6 games and was severely limited in a 5th (shouldn't they have taken care of things earlier like the underdog Celtics were just supposed to do?). Sick of nobody mentioning how a tough call that often goes uncalled, especially in crunch time, could have changed the OKC series to a game 7 on the road and the Mavs could be headlines of Luka might want out and Kyrie might be on the downside of his career instead of the current bs. Sick of the Mavs getting credit for the Wolves playing offense like middle schoolers with no set gameplan most possessions and a defense they refuse to adjust. Even then a bad review because of a stupid rule where an obvious foul on Kyrie makes the series 2-2 instead of starting 3-0 if the refs award free throws to Minny instead of the ball to Mavs. Asterisks all over the place if the media wants to play that game for us. I hope these boys are ready and show who the better team is! I hope the crowd is sick of it too and we get the best Garden crowd of the entire season. I hope they chant the hell out of "Who wants Boston??" as we demoralize them. I hope we don't let up and continue to prove it each and every game as we hoist up #18! And finally, I hope I can stay awake for all of it with these late start times and a 6 month old who's sometimes a difficult sleeper lol!!

We can't afford to be **** around with stats. It didn't help us in 2022 that we won game 1 but I don't want to find out what this team looks like playing from behind.
