Top 65 in these categories for the postseason, all-time -- POINTS, REBOUNDS, ASSISTS, BLOCKS, STEALS, and MADE THREES. Hell of an NBA career that needs to be capped off with a championship ring.

Horford literally has some matchup nightmares (looks old) against some players, but other times he is a great defender. Like stated in the other thread, He matches up so well against Luka. Has enough speed and can't really be muscled which is what Luka does against lighter defenders.

Gonna need him now more than ever if KP is out. Just 2 more wins is all that is needed… Al got this and he will deserve it. Ball out time.

Al is going to have a huge game 3. I don’t think it or feel it or even just believe it, I KNOW IT. Towards the end of game 2 Luka did one of his patented initiate contact and exaggerate to get an and-1 then laugh and smile the refs fell for it. He did this little show right at Al. Who gave him a very familiar “ok I see how it is” repeated nod like he gave to Giannis in the playoffs two years ago. We all remember the nod and the determination that followed from Al including the vicious dunk and celebratory elbow to Giannis’ head. Game 2 it was toward the end so no time to get Luka back. Game 3 is coming through and Luka is about to get an injection of Al from Doctor Horford!

What’s with the rumors I’m hearing that Al Horford may retire if we win this chip?

Evidently Al listed his house for sale and there’s been internet gossip that’s he done.

Where is this coming from? Any truth to it?

I can already see it at the parade now.

Some Dolphin fans thought that Terron Armstead would leave $10 million on the table and retire. He doesn't have to participate in training camp and he doesn't have to practice during the season. "Just show up on Sundays big man"

I would be shocked if AL leaves $9.5 million on the table. The coaching staff needs to get X (if he's re-signed) and Queta in the building ASAP during the offseason to alleviate Al's minutes during the season though. I'd like Al to get 20-25 mpg reg season and the usual 30mpg in the postseason. :D

Knowing how competitive Al is, it's hard to imagine him retiring after this season. He and the rest of us know that he still has some gas left in his tank. I think he's going to play out his contract, try to win another championship, and then cement his legacy as a Celtics great.

And I'm not against it.

Also another year to train his "replacement" and doppelganger.

16,000 career points + 10,000 career rebounds + 4,000 career assists + 1,400 career blocks + 900 career steals (including playoffs) -- Kareem, Duncan, Dirk, KG, Horford. That's the list.

One win away from enshrining this guy to the HOF.

(Add 1,000 career 3-pointers made then it's just him & Dirk.)

If they do close this out, does 42 join 5, 34, 33, 32, etc. up in the rafters? Al clearly was going into the hall anyways but winning a title in Boston usually puts borderline cases over the hump. I think the only star players who haven't had his number retired from a title team are Ray and Rondo.

He's already there. He never needed to win a title because of the standards of the HOF. Jrue on the other hand does need a title and probably 1 or 2 more years of high performance.
