He’s been a terrible defender for a long time and tried a bit more in the playoffs but it’s clear he’s going to be one of the punching bags this series along with any Kleber minutes.

Tatum is 2-10. The only problem with Tatum is he is missing shots. He is getting what he wants. And, 8 assists. Dallas doesn’t have enough talent.

Yeah, because his teammates are making shots. Assists are the most overrated stat in the league, along with defensive rebounding.

Tatum has done this multiple times during the season. Despite the slow starts he has at times, any moment he can go off for 18 points a quarter.

Yeah, but you can't hide Luka the same way you could against Amir Coffey or Lu Dort or Jaden McDaniels. The Celtics have four guys better than the aforementioned players who can easily drop 30 in a playoff game starting for them. Luka also still has to do everything for the Mavs offensively. He has way more responsibility than any individual Celtic.

Tatum is such a weird player lol. He has all the tools and physical gifts to be a dominating superstar and potentially an all time great but he plays so inconsistently and seems to just melt under pressure. If you swapped him out for the likes of Jokic, Luka, or Giannis the Celtics would be a dynasty by now.

It’s just a glaring deficiency he has to work on. For as great as he is offensively he doesn’t try hard enough defensively. Very harden esque.
