This is why clowns like Stephen A need to sit down and shut up. Let Chiney, Monica, Andraya etc speak on women's hoops. I wanna hear unbiased analysis not some clown crying about how no one wants to roll over for CC.

I have been tone deaf the last couple of days on this CC talk cause its just to much. The racism that I keep seeing in comments has left a real sour taste in my mouth im not gonna lie. So I tuned out.

on the day she dropped 30 against mystics on social media.

First comment I see is ..... yeah she cooked them wig wearers. White people find many creative ways to say the N word....

I can imagine SA is going super hard why she should have been on the team. I purposely have stayed out of that oylmpic thread here cause I will prob get banned for a few days.

This type of energy is not needed on a global stage. She need some maturing. I dont care about the hype. I agree with the committee. Imagine if she didnt play what would happen..... :noway:

There's thinly veiled racist overtones in that Olympics thread, and frankly in general regarding this discussion.

Trying to paint a league that is 90% Black women as "jealous" and all kinds of crap isn't lost on me. It's blatant dog whistling.

I have no issues with Caitlin Clark. None. She is a rookie that needs to learn and mature.

Her fans though? Absolutely not. I know racism and hate when I see it and it's a shame that a woman who was inspired by a BLACK woman to play this sport has people like this ruining her name.

The best part is, you can sh*t talk them in this thread and not have to hear the whinging about it, cause they'll never actually open a thread meant to talk about the WNBA lol

I did not know that!!! No wonder Dijonai is so relentless lol

Her and Ty Harris have been really good for us. I was worried in the offseason with losing Tiff Hayes and Hiedeman about the backcourt, but they've really stepped it up

Issue is, there's no bench depth and I'm still mad we took some French player who won't come over for years instead of Nika Muhl.

And Nika would have been a good fit on that Sun roster. It's sad because right now she's sitting bench on Seattle.

You are clearly upset that your entire sham argument about CC got clowned and dismissed. You don't need to pollute the other threads on the W forum with your butthurt.

For recap:

-you do not like watching women's basketball, yet you're on here offering opinions about why someone should be given a spot on a women's Olympic basketball team. A team where you can't name half the players selected or never watched them play.

Clown sh*t. The General Board suits you.

She has quickly become one of my most favorite players in the league. Last night she made a couple of lefty jump hooks and a lefty reverse layup. At 1:28 you'll see her using fancy footwork to make a righty reverse. The Storm's homer announcer questions if she took an extra step (I was watching the Sparks feed myself). I remember Kevin Garnett and Candace Parker arguing about the legality of this move. Of course, Candace was 100% correct.

I was wondering/lamenting why the Sky traded her as she would make a terrific backup to Cardoso. Then I discovered that she was part of the package which brought us Angel. Ok, that was worth it . . .

Edit: watching closely again that fancy layup was also left-handed. It looks like she might shoot FTs right-handed and everything else left-handed.

It's only June, but I think it might be time to start having that talk about the Aces. They have not looked like the dominant team we saw last year. Kelsey is not playing well either

the aces don't seem like they have a lot of depth right now. that might be part of the reason a'ja wilson is on such a long streak of 20+ point games, they aren't getting reliable production from enough other players - so they really have to lean on wilson

See I gotta watch more Sparks games, they have some seriously interesting players.

What really stands out about Yueru is how physically SOLID she is. She's like a damn tank :o with nice touch around the rim too. I got my eye on her

From last night, Plum and Hiedeman talk that talk after a great block by Natisha.

 Kelsey talks so much sh*t that I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often

Don't let the pearl clutchers see this they might not take it well.

Last night was really bad too, I think only one other starter had double figures.

I mean, Gray is coming back and Young is still playing herself into mid-season form, but the aura of invincibility they had last year is gone

Maybe next time don't trade away a player because she gets pregnant and they might have had more depth *shrugs*

Through the early games of the season, I was really rooting for CC to do well. Now, when I watch her, I start to get this feeling that I want her to play poorly. I have to really check myself and remind myself that none of this is her fault. But it definitely takes effort right now.

It's because W fans can see that she has been co opted by certain people with bad intentions for a political agenda, but CC has done nothing to anyone to wish for her to fail. That's why I make it clear, me speaking up against ppl using her to spew garbage has nothing to do with her.

I love watching her play which is why I was heavily critical of the Fever's coaching after their last game. It's one thing to lack talent and just suck, but the coaching staff is doing that team a huge disservice. I refuse to believe that a team with CC, AB, and K Mitchell should be this bad and look so lost on both ends. They should at least be better offensively. Defense? Whoo boy

I really don't understand it, theoretically Clark and Boston should complement each other well for having different operating areas, but there's just no chemistry there. You gotta think it's coaching at this point

Would be kind of funny if they ended up with the #1 pick again next year though and ended up drafting Paige. I mean, my dream scenario is the Sun somehow getting that pick so Paige can stay in CT, but I know that's not happening.

They both have weaknesses in their game that make it so they don’t operate well together.

Clark
- Doesn’t operate super well off ball when AB is in the post. She just stands there.
- Running p&r and hitting AB in the short roll isn’t the best spot for AB. That’s not how she become the #1 pick.

AB
- She isn’t that rim running, athletic play finisher that CC works well with

So when each person is in their spot (CC in pick and roll or AB in the post) the other is in a a position that isnt their wheelhouse. If CC can get downhill she can create for Boston, but that hasn’t happened yet.

But both have things to work on to make this pairing work. Or they could just trade AB.

I can't see Paige and CC coexisting  I think if the Fever land #1 they're gonna take Kiki from Stanford. Adding another scoring forward with that core could be fun.

I know it's not easy but you'd think that the staff could have devised a system that maximizes what both players (AB/CC) do best. Instead the ball sticks a lot and players just stand around. There really is no chemistry with Clark/Boston and I find that so odd.

I noticed this too. AB is not very good at the rolling part of PnR and CC looks completely lost when she has to watch someone post up.

Again, I know these are individual weaknesses but the coach needs to figure out how to use what both players do effectively in coordination. Like let CC and AB play a two person game where CC dumps it into AB, and then immediately runs off of a screen to shift the defense. There's a bunch of different ways to maximize both players but right now it just looks like everyone is lost

And another complaint: why isn't Clark used as a screener off ball?

Girl needs to watch some Steph Curry/Reggie Miller tape

Just keep running around until someone loses you.
