2024 DRAFT DAY PREDICTION THREAD: POLL

For posterity's sake, I figured we should have a poll showing who we think the FO will take on draft night. This is a prediction thread. Arguments for taking specific players should remain in the draft thread.

Also this thread is operating under the assumption that we stay at #2. If we start discussing trade downs this thread will be a blow up.

Otherwise, trade down with SAS/DET and grab Clingan or Castle

I don’t think Sarr fits Atlanta’s timeline or that of the teams who we’re hearing about for trades so he’ll be there and we’ll take him. I’d also predict no trade of the #2 although I really hope I’m wrong.

Will he be there though? It seems Atlanta likes Clingan, Sarr, and Risacher about equally and would prefer to trade down. It also seems their most likely trade partner, San Antonio, has Risacher as their number 1 guy in this draft. That all points to Sarr likely being available at 2

If the rumors are true about ATL, they will:
>Draft Clingan
or
> Trade with the Spurs who will take Risacher

SO, it appears we get Sarr either way. If we can’t draft Sarr, I would prefer we take Clingan/Castle/Dillingham > Risacher,

Practically everyone has voted for Sarr thus far and if the recent reports are true, this seems like the most likely outcome. Time to start watching Sarr highlights and hyping myself up

It's easy to get hyped with highlights of him. It's not so easy when looking at his stats.

Sarr is a high upside gamble. If it pays off, he could be an All-Star. I'm just not very confident it will pay off.

Maybe he'll be the next Jonathan Isaac. I guess that's something. A consistently healthy Jonathan Isaac is a disruptive defensive player, but an unusual fit on a roster because he's not a shooter and can't play big minutes at center.

26. Collier
51. Bona

Pick in the teens- Holland, Topic or Dillingham. Holland if I’m forced to pick between the three

All star- Edey (hey we should take that guy)

Solid nba player- Missi

All Rookie- no idea

Bust- Cody Willams

I'm starting to feel like all the Risacher/Clingan at #1 rumors are a big smokescreen for Atlanta's actual intent to take Sarr. I get that Sarr's agent hates Atlanta, but I don't think that's enough of a deterrent if they think he's the best prospect in this class. Up until recently, I was pretty resigned we'd take Risacher, and I still think we will.

Depends who's available with the pick we trade it for in 2025. (but if I'm forced to pick in this draft, one of the PGs in that range - Carter, Collier, Carringtion)

Just to have it on record my top 5 is

1-Sheppard
2- Clingan
3- Sarr
4- Dillingham
5- Topic

For our pick #2 I’d be taking Sheppard.

Our 26th pick I would love to trade up for Saluan. But if staying out I’m hoping for Furphy.

Who will the Wiz take at #2?
