I have this sinking feeling that Derrick White is going to extend on a super team-friendly deal.

I was thinking the same thing. In fact, I'd almost bet on it.

I love that Embiid is the most optimistic person about this team.

Paul George kept a straight face throughout that whole clip. Either he’s being extremely professional about it or isn’t truly considering coming here.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

I'm not sure what that friendly deal would be, but he should be making almost 2x as much as he's making now. Hard to imagine they could pony up another $35M, when they'll already be paying Tatum, Brown, and Jrue about $135M.

I could see if it was a couple mil, but it's hard to believe he and his family would be willing to give up $15+ M/year as he neara the end of his prime years.

Derrick White is 29 so this is likely his last chance to cash in on a huge contract. He could take a “team friendly” deal because ultimately that’s still $20M-$30M per year, which is is crazy money if you’re living a normal life (which White seems to). It’s just really hard to pass up on generational wealth.

Pretty amazing that Payne got arrested before Tobias did after stealing money for years.

Based on his impact this season Derrick White deserves $50m per year. He'd have to be a stone-cold moron to just take $30m per year instead.

Saltics will be hurting big time financially once that happens.

4-120 sounds about right for me for Derrick White.

Are the Celtics sporting a 250M+ payroll? For next year, maybe. After that? No shot.

White should be paid the same, if not more, than whatever Mikel Bridges is going to be paid.

Bridges is underpaid, so yeah. 25-32 million is right for White.

He's definitely not taking a team friendly deal. He's won the ring already. If you take the team for only deal, the only thing they're going to be looking to do is trade that deal in a few

The question becomes why would you pass up on generational wealth. Holiday got paid and has gotten paid. Brown has got paid and will probably get paid again. Tatum is going to get paid and will probably get paid again. So I, Derrick White, should take a team friendly deal as I come off the best performance of my career, for what? Championship rings. Chit I can go down to the pawn shop and buy an authentic NBA championship ring. Think about your family Derrick your loyalty is to them and yourself. If someone is offering you more than Boston can match BOUNCE !
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

Well if he extends the max he could get from Boston would be 4 yrs 126 mil. Which is basically 31.5 per year. He could make max if he let his contract and expire then resign. I think he will take that 126 mil. Still pretty pricey for Boston. Jrue Porzingis and White making 30 mil, Tatum and Brown on Supermax.

Championships don’t pay the bills lol. Thats why I wouldn’t never question Carmelo Anthony turning down a chance to play with Bron and Wade. Could have had a few rings but hard to turn down all that money and being the face of NY.

Kris Dunn for the vet min would be a solid addition. Delon Wright is also a guy who could come off the bench and play extended minutes next to Maxey.

I couldn't stop laughing when I was watching that interview live. I just so happened to turn it on and stop because I saw him. I didn't even realize Paul George was there and then I just couldn't stop cracking up.

He's such a character

Delon Wright had a .400+ 3PAr in 2022, 2023, and in his games with Miami in 2024. He's become a respectable spacer. And we all know what he offers defensively. However, he's a tough guy to sign for a fair price because he always has suitors. He's not productive enough to throw a bag at.

Kris Dunn is a lockdown defender, but more of a clunky fit for spacing. Also, his personality can be a little rough to get along with, bad lockerroom guy. I don't think I'd want him.
