An excellent showcase for the league with today's Sky-Fever game, on network TV. A high-quality game and close until almost the very end.

Both of these teams should be excellent in a couple of years, with Reese/Cardoso and Clark/Boston being formidable young duos.

Agreed. I enjoyed the Carter/Mitchell matchup as well. Probably the two quickest guards in the league going against each other.

Angel def needs to get stronger and craftier in her finishes around the basket. But she is already a beast on the glass. She is 4th in rebounding in the league and #1 in offensive rebounds. Her and Cardoso are going to be a problem in a year or two.

I like Reese. She needs her Brad Miller to teach her how to pass and become a professional basketball player.

This team is like the Brooklyn Nets. They suck and don't have their 1st round picks

??? We do have a 2025 pick it's just swappable with Dallas if we finish the season lower than them, but they're currently worse than us.

Plus, the Sky just drafted two franchise bigs, in the league where having the best bigs is the most important thing you can do. The Sky are in way, way, way better position than the Bulls.

On a side note, Angel Reese is surely the most annoying rookie in US professional basketball history. I never remember an NBA guy who had complaint after complaint, including skipping media sessions and trashing the referees, during his first 15 games.

Probably every WNBA team by default is in better position than the Bulls just because the league is half the size so getting lucky is by default a ton easier.

She told you who she was at LSU. Nothing about her behavior as a rookie is surprising. She’s got a chip on her shoulder and is a Kyrie level drama queen (minus the anti-Semitism and scientific ignorance).

She’s going to be an excellent WNBA player, but you guys are going to have to tolerate her childish drama unless she ever grows out of it.

A season ending ACL injury for #2 pick Cameron Brink. Sigh.

I like Angel Reese but with how many weak ass putbacks and bricks this team puts up she probably leads the league in garbage shots that bounced into her lap. I'm more concerned about Cardoso learning how to play big instead of being big. Meanwhile a scrawny white chick that no one has even mentioned in the media or this thread is putting up Lamar Odom numbers again. Shoutout to the only star on this team, Marina Mabrey

Mabrey doesn't much get mentioned because she's not the shiny new thing. But yeah, Mabrey is currently the best Sky player. First on the team in total points and assists, second in rebounds and steals. She gets things done.

mabrey is neither a star nor the best player on the sky. she's being asked to do way more than she should so her numbers might be suffering a little from that, but she should probably be like, the third best player on a good team. (and honestly, given how stacked the true contenders are in the wnba, even that might be generous)

I grant that she's not a star. But not sure about the second part of your comment. Who do you think is the best player on the Sky? I guess you could say Carter. I don't see any other candidates.

i think carter is pretty comfortably the best, yeah. even without an outside shot she scores so much more efficiently than mabrey (and can more reliably create her own shot)

She has allstar level quickness for sure. That to me is what separates her.

Angel is an absolute beast. Cardoso getting better as she's coming back from injury. That duo is going to be incredible.

Shout out to Chennedy Carter who balled out as well.

This is shaping up to be a Lebron/Carmelo type rookie race.
