If true -it shows the Knicks have discipline. I like it!

Unless Windy is getting this news directly from OG this sounds like it’s coming from an outside source, the Knicks aren’t going to put that out there and neither would his agent (considering who his agent is).

It doesnt bother me either way...The last OG injury rubbed me the wrong way to be honest. I'm not saying I dont
want him here. Im just saying that I support the FO if they are setting limits...
To beat Boston...We are going to need another elite defender anyway...what happenes if OG gets injured again....

All this stuff about OG leaving sounds a lot like Leon trying to justify to Dolan why he's gonna pay Leon Jr. a bunch of money.

We were all pretty sure we traded for him and not rented him.
Sunken cost means we can’t recover it right? I bet he is worth more signed to an overinflated contract than nada.

Why do the in season “trade” then? A chip would have made him even more expensive. Can’t be that.

If we lose him it is up there with the Antonio McDyess trade.

We didn’t even make a mistake, we made a great trade and now we have to finish the great deal by signing him to an extension. But you trade a valuable young asset along with RJ for this guy and then he leaves for nothing that’s a catastrophic organizational failure

This has to be the easiest fanbase to trigger. Leader in most clicks per rumor ratio

Optics... it has to look like his agent is fielding offers from other teams. He'll get a fair deal with NYK in the end. Hoping it's more on the team-friendly side but the main thing is to lock him up for a good long while.

I also don't think any team will blow iHart away with a can't-miss offer. I think he'll return as well.

I think you guys are missing the point...maybe OG agreed to a number that the Knicks were comfortable with...what happens if he changes the number? If it goes into an uncomfortable area- you dont sign him because of who you gave up and then get stuck with an injury prone 40 million dollar contract...
I dont know what they worked out this is all speculation...But I wont fault the FO because I trust them...

We're not going to have space to sign someone else so it's better and easier to overpay a bit to keep our best defender. It's not like he doesn't check any other boxes either. Young, fits our timeline, and when he plays we win. What's not to overpay for?

What's funny to me is the Raptors board has a thread on this, just as long. Some thinking they'll get him back. Some hoping it'll go wrong for NYK just so they can feel they won the trade. Meanwhile they're years away.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.
