5 KNICKS IN HOOPS HYPE NBA TOP 100 FOR 23-24 SEASON

Post#1 » by 8516knicks » Wed Jun 19, 2024 4:44 pm

Jalen at #6 - ahead of anyone on Boston! Also one of the biggest 3 jumps from pre-season.

Josh at #51 - from not ranked in pre-season; super large jump (maybe largest)

Julius #52 despite injury; would have been higher they said but for that.

Donte #53

Head-scratching OG (dropped him 28 pts from pre-season #35 Maybe they're in league with Leon to get his price down.

Remember just a few years ago the board was lamenting we didn't have a top 75 player?

Oops. Make it 6 - missed IHart at #90.

Boston must have the "strongest" combined # of players in the top 100, no? Any other team come in ahead of NYK when you combine all their top 100 players?

These are fantasy rankings right? Contract vs production?

Hoopshype really is a great site regardless of how they ranked Brunson here.

“ This ranking is based on actual player performance and how much/how often these players helped their teams. It was not based on how talented the players are or how impactful they were when healthy.

Think of it more like just flat out: What have you done for me lately?

If a player is elite when healthy but played in just 50 games this year, for example, they would be docked places in this list.”

So basically it’s how valuable the player was last season

7 and 8 - the Jays
32 - White
48 - Jrue (and, boy, does that look stupid?)
50 - KP

Horford not in the top 100. Some weird and wonderful assessments.

But, scoring this like a cross-country meet, let's say with 4 finishers to qualify, (lowest score wins)

Boston: 95 (7, 8, 32, 48) (50)
TWolves: 113 (5, 15, 31, 62) (68, 76)
Denver: 116 (1, 33, 38, 44)
Lakers: 120 (9, 10, 54, 56)
OKC: 143 (3, 35, 35, 70)
Knicks: 162 (6, 51, 52,53) (81, 90)
Clippers: 168 (20, 29, 34, 85) (95)
Cleveland: 182 (21, 39, 55, 67) (93)
Sacramento: 186 (11, 18, 71, 86)
Bucks: 197 (4, 25, 79, 89)
Suns: 200 (12, 26, 74, 88) (91)
76ers: 202 (14, 19, 69, 100)
Pelicans: 206 (28, 47, 58, 73) (80)
Dallas: 213 (2, 23, 92, 96)
Atlanta: 274 (37, 40, 98, 99)

5 scorers to count:

Boston
TWolves
Knicks
Clippers
Cleveland
Pelicans
Suns

I don't know if this or 2k ratings matter more....

If there was a actual math to this, I would respect it more.

I think 2k tries to do some actual math. This ... doesn't seem to be anything real.

I mean look at the people in the 60s and 70s. Lots of guys I like as players. But is Naz Reed really that much a more useful player than Al Horford? To the extent that Horford doesn't make the top 100? Either on stats or the eye test. Malik Monk. He's alright. Future prospects maybe he's with more than Al. But, what have you done for me this season. No. Horford's head and shoulders better. Etc etc.
