Not clear to me why the first tweeter thinks he'll be a vet minimum signing. Is Orlando not interested in keeping him? Surely there's more demand than that for a 24 year old center who held his own in starting 33 games for a playoff team. Even if it's like 2/8 or something.

Yeah, I think goga could be a good tpmle candidate.

I think Houston would Eason, but they'd do it to get a wing or PG that can shoot and score. They're overloaded with PFs. Make it a 3 way deal.

Also, Londale's contract is non- guaranteed, so Houston can just waive him, and absorb additions into cap space.

Totally agree. I've put together several Middleton to Houston deals.

Maybe they shift gears and prioritize a scorer in general if they strike out on PG, Bridges, Jimmy, Middleton?, etc.

I'm good with Goga as a cheap Center option in the event of a Brook or Bobby trade. List of guys I'd look at with the minimum/TPMLE:

Lonnie Walker
Trendon Watford
Valanciunas (only in the event of a Brook trade)
Naji Marshall
Nic Batum
Javonte Green
Gary Trent Jr.
Precious Achiuwa
Lamar Stevens

If we make a draft day trade where we duck the 2nd apron, we can use the tpmle this offseason, right?

Are we close enough where just dropping MarJon's salary gets us there, or do we know what the number is?

An interesting 3 way deal could include Brook to NO, Ingram to Houston, Eason to Milwaukee, with Houston sending more to NO, including #3.

How about Bobby for Nance + 21?

We then draft Shannon at 21 and Dunn at 23. Trade 33.

I like this deal a lot. I think it also gets us under the 2nd apron as Bobby makes about $1.4 million more per year.

The only question is what NOP want to be when they grow up. I don't think they have a clue.

Both the Rockets and Pelicans are teams I could see us dealing with.

How highly either of them value Brook vs Steven Adams is one question. Could imagine Middleton and Bobby being on Houston’s radar too.

Do the Bucks or Pelicans take back Dillon Brooks in that Ingram scenario? Am not clear whether teams would prefer not to have to deal with him or if his perimeter defense is worth it.

Eason is an interesting target for us. I could also see Dyson Daniels being someone we’d push for, but the Pelicans might need to be getting a guard who can play D like DeJounte Murray to be willing to go there.

I like the idea of Nance too. He's a super underrated glue guy that would fit pretty well next to Giannis and at least be able to absorb some of the more difficult C/PF assignments. Problem is with all these draft-day trades, is the quick turn around and immediately finding a taker for one or both of those picks. I just don't see any way we spend 2-3 draft selections on rookies with this roster. You need to turn one of Bobby or Brook plus those assets into two established rotation guys.

To use the Tplme, we would still need to be under the 2nd apron after we used it.

Dropping Marjons salary accomplishes nothing, as it would need to be replaced with a minimum salary, and he only makes $700k more than the minimum.

Whatever that is it sure seems they don’t want to pay Ingram the absurd amount of money other teams are reportedly eager to pay him.

Rather my hunch is they are willing to roll the dice on Zion’s health a bit longer at least — but they are not willing to go all in.

Brook could be plenty attractive to the Pelicans for a win now push while also being low commitment. I don’t see why they’d want Bobby next to Zion though, and imagine they’d prefer not to trade Nance since they need all the defense they can get. But who knows what players will remain especially if they are making a bigger multi-team trade.

I'm at least tentatively in the trade Dame camp, & I hate it. Given how weak this draft is toward the top, that's just a poo-poo platter. We need a core player in return, just a younger but not quite as good one.

If you're going to take a bunch of 1st rd swings, you might as well keep Dame, & get them for Brook, Bobby, & w/ your own picks. I mean there's little difference between the top and bottom of the 1st rd in this draft.

Rick Barry did announcing for TNT and USA Network back in the day. He was fantastic. No filter on his commentary. I'm guessing David Stern was the one who put an end to that after a couple years.

Can guarantee Horst probably has 12 different deal permutations lined up if he were to acquire a pick to deal.

And I love the idea of hustle Nance in the lineup.

I just don't like any of those three Spurs players much at all. They all seem like guys who get stats simply because they get minutes. And the two picks aren't enough to overcome it.

That said, if SA wants to add another future pick unprotected......
