I like it for Chicago, and I love it for OKC.

Giddey fits well with Coby White and Ayo. You can play him at SF in small ball/4 out lineups, with White/Ayo as the backcourt, and Pat Williams as the PF. I'm assuming Chicago will trade Lavine and perhaps let DeRozan go. Let's see, it's still too early to tell.

Caruso fits well in the OKC multiple lineups too. I think OKC is 2 rotation pieces away from being the best team in the league (or perhaps improvement from within, Cason Wallace for example). Jalen Williams could be an All-Star as soon as next season too.

It's a good trade for both teams actually. Caruso is 30 and Giddey is 21, this has to be taken into account too.

Another angle is that Caruso will be extension-elegible soon, and unless OKC wants to pay the tax, someone's gotta give in that roster with all those future picks coming.

I actually really like this for Chicago as well as OKC.

Great trade for the Bulls. What people don't realize about Giddey is he's only 21 years old. He improved from 22% to 33% on 3 point shooting within a year. Given time, he could shoot at a 40% rate in a couple of years. He's also a triple double threat, and probably the best 6'9 ball facilitator since Magic Johnson. Here are some of his big games:

**17/13/14 43.8% @ DAL**

**24/4/8 52.6% @ SAC**

**20/6/10 50% @ UTA**

**23/6/8 57.1% @ BOS**

**28/11/12 50% @ NYK**

**31/10/9 63.6% @ CHA**

When Shai was out, he was averaging a near triple double. The Bulls got lucky; I don't think they are rebuilding. Giddey can do what Lonzo did and more.

I was hoping Presti would keep him and put him in the 2nd unit. The people who say he's not a good fit probably haven't watched a lot of Thunder ball, which is fine because the team is relatively new and upcoming.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that he puts up some really good numbers while scoring inefficiently on a bad team that gets him paid. The playoffs though really highlighted his weaknesses that likely are going to be difficult to overcome.

And until they get size and rebounding around Chet in the frontcourt they’re losing in the playoffs. Another two moves are needed.

Woah....slow your roll. :o

Offseason just started. lol

I doubt that OKC is done wheeling and dealing.

caruso gives them what they had in JG just probably better right now as a complement. Giddey fits the bulls timeline better but should've gotten some picks back.

Bulls ain’t done dealing imo.

I see Giddey being moved to Washington, NOP.

Just would like to add, as we've seen in the playoffs, it's all about match-ups (rock x papers x scissors thing; one match-up is better over the other but one is worse, etc, like Wolves > Nuggets but Nuggets > Mavericks but Mavericks > Wolves, not that black and white but you know what i mean).

Moving forward, we know the top four (Mavs, Wolves, Thunder, Nuggets) are very close and going to rule the West for the next 3-5 years. This move basically is so versatilte you can already see the Caruso effect for the Thunder on the defensive end, heck maybe as the primary defender for the stars of the opposing teams:

Dallas: Caruso vs. Luka; but can slide to Kyrie too
Minnesota: Caruso vs. Edwards
Denver: Caruso vs. Murray

Sure, Caruso is not a "star" but the OKC are getting star value nonetheless considering his role to this team. A++ trade for OKC!

They missed their chance to get more for Caruso by not trading him at the deadline. You aren't getting much for 1 year of Caruso it was either Giddey or a mid-late FRP.

Giddey is only 21.

When Shai was injured, he averaged a near triple double 19/7/7 shooting 54%. His 3pt% went from 22% to 33% within a year. 10% was a huge improvement, so it's possible he could shoot in the 40s in 2- 5 years.

The Bulls desperately need a PG. Giddey is a great fit. They are going to make the playoffs next season. I'm glad they are moving on from Lonzo Ball. I don't think they are rebuilding because I don’t see them moving anybody else.

What’s Chicago thinking here?

That they were trading for a PG with real potential.

And they traded a bench guard that's averaged 50 games/season and 23 mpg, who they sold as high as they could on after starting for a year, who is going into the last year of his contract at 30 years old?

Everyone loves Caruso, but that's also what he is.

OP should add a third option: great trade for both teams.

Yes, I noticed that about Giddey. I like to follow up and coming teams, so I kept a close eye on OKC the past few years.

I agree, Giddey has became somewhat underrated in these prairies.

Lonzo is basically an ex-player with a contract. I wouldn't expect anything in terms of production.

What I don't know yet, though, is if the Bulls are going to rebuild or not. They'll have to lean one way or another soon, or else the treadmill of mediocrity will push them aside.

Welcome to the forums, btw. See you around.
