Tbh, those are probably the guys at our range. Technically, Edey is the best scorer we can get there.

I can see the translatable skillset with both of them.

Collier can get by you. He has a THICK body and draws FTs at a high level.

Edey has a mismaych against every dude in the NBA. He is fiery. He loves buckets.

Lets not overthink this.

It would be nice to have a center they don't have to teach how to scorer inside. Shooting is nice and needed, but I don't know if we have any center outside Bam that can reliably score inside. And even then Bam isn't unstoppable, that's why he has his midrange.

I’m starting come around on Edey and if they draft him, I wouldn’t be mad at the pick.

I think offensively he’d be a god send to Jimmy

And Bam could cover much of the ground defensively to protect his immobility (if Spo were to play them together)

If they can somehow get Carter though, he’s still my first choice.

Oh yeah, Carter is my number 1 most wanted player this whole draft cycle. You add him and play him next to Herro or Rozier, we might have the number 1 defense

Just a reminder if you want a true floor spacing point guard who has a DEEP three, plays defense and is mature that has been coached up. Boogie Ellis is your guy.

I'm with Haslem, Bam is a PF. I've been on that bandwagon for years. He's a PF for gods sakes. He is skilled. He has a bag. Let him **** do it.

Get that mammoth dude Edey next to him and let Bam shoot his middies with an actual **** center to rebound the misses. On defense, let Bam do his mid range to perimeter masterpieces and let Edey be a massive rim deterrent on the **** that gets past the man to man defenders we have.

I like a lot of guys at our spot. Edey, Da Silva, Devin, Collier, Ware, etc. I see a roster shaping draft here that pays dividends. It doesn't solve the having a superstar problem, but it builds a stronger roster.

I want advantages from this draft. Find a strength that can be exploited.

Da Silva feels like the likeliest pick.

Weird to say about a new player, but he almost gives off a ‘run it back’ feel, though he is taller than the likes of Martin and Hightower.

As far as Edey, I like the idea of having an offensive identity.

Watching the team trying to consistently manufacture decent shots was painstakingly difficult.

I don't see the Heat ever taking a player like Edey on this team at least not on this build. Edey next to Bam doesn't work, he is also very slow at defending or moving after a switch, its like his biggest negative. There's only like 3-4 teams in the NBA were Edey would work based on the talent around him having to be specific, Miami isn't one of those teams. Miami will pick a mobile big, that can switch, and have some type of range.

This bit is what I'm focused on. With Edey, we have a mismatch who wants to score, every night. We need ONE advantage on offense. Please.

That's why I don't like the Da Silva pick. He basically solves NONE of our problems. He doubles down on skills already on our team. He's a depth pick. Pretty much everyone else available brings a new, skill or dimension to the team.

It just seems so unambitious to use a whole mid first rounder to replace an undrafted bench guy we got off the scrap heap.

That sounds like a near allstar player. Is Knecht possibly that good?

I've watched next to nothing on him. Not on my radar at all. Thats a good player though if the comparison is true.

Funny, Sam Vecenie called Knecht a more athletic Duncan and said Mia should try and get him.

When the rumors about Mia wanting to move up came about, my initial thoughts are they either want Carter or Knecht.

More athletic Duncan Robinson? Or More athletic Tyler Herro? Sounds like more Jalen Rose style prospect comparisons lol

Might as well say he's an athletic Kyle Korver or athletic JJ Reddick lol

Return to Miami Heat
