I liked Deni and they got a decent package for him.
Now, what contending team will end up with Brogdon?

The Warriors 2024 pick + a 2029 first + Brogdon is almost exactly the Celtics package for Holiday a year ago. For context.

For Hal. Can now wait until trade restriction lifts and he can trade KP for Claxton before the deadline. No need for S&T now.

That overpay for OG is insane. White is better overall and far more durable, and should be extended at 31M per year. Knicks should be the 2 seed in the East but your top 2 options are still Brunson and Randle. That doesn't cut it deep in the playoffs. I expect Tatum and Brown only to get better with the monkey off their backs. Celtics in 5

With Portland taking Clingan in the draft, I wonder if they'd be open to trading Reath...could be great centre depth with us and on less than 2m for next couple of years...

That's about $5M for each made free throw.

The Scheierman pick probably means Svi is gone.

This also signals that Brad/Joe want as many shooters on the team as possible.

So between Queta/Kornet/Tillman, I think 1 (or more) will not be brought back.

Brad also said when we traded for Springer that "he needs to improve as a shooter"..Think Springer will be back..but he could be gone (either by trade deadline or next summer) if he doesn't improve his shooting.

Brissett (a suspect shooter) probably is gone too.

Our roster for next season:

1 tatum
2 brown
3 Jrue
4 white
5 KP
6 al
7 Hauser
8 Pritchard
9 big (probably tillman but maybe Kornet)
10 Springer
11 Walsh
12 Scheierman
13 Queta or Kornet?
14 ?
15 ?

The order of the players is not really important..it's just off the top of my head..the important thing is the names - not the order of them, for this exercise..

Holiday obviously better, but Avdija is way younger and on a very cheap (4/55) contract. Also it's a little less because no Rob Williams in the deal.

Could also bring back Brisset. Literally just run the entire team back swapping out Svi for Scheierman. Or Brisset leaves and they shop that spot for a veteran ring chaser.

Cs need a rebounding machine for the vets minimum.

There's a hole at the spot starting center position especially at the start of the season while KP is out and Horford being on load management. Ideally someone a bit better than Kornet. Tillman is alright but rebounding could be a concern. I'd LOVE Queta to make a leap and be that guy. Options seem very limited it seems but it's in those situations where Brad seems to do his best work. I kind of like Bitadze and Eubanks.

I am hoping that by all-star break Queta has taken over most of Kornet's minutes. I think we are fine in the big man department if we resign Kornet and Tillman and pick up Queta's option and extend him. By not drafting Flip, I feel that Brad is pretty confident that he can get Kornet and Tillman resigned and that Brad also had some questions about Flip's defense.

We needed another wing shooter because Svi seems like he couldn't do the job, and I don't think Brissett will be back. By drafting Scheierman at 30 means that he has to be on a standard contract or stashed overseas (i don't think that will happen) and can't be signed as a two-way player. That also gives us Pritchard, Hauser and Scheierman to back up the 1/2/3 positions with shooters. Pretty sure that Hauser will be signed for around 6-8 mill a season, or Brad will just pick up his team option and look to move him at the deadline. I don't think Brad will spend 10+ mill a year on Hauser.

White, Holiday, Brown. Tatum, Porzingis
Pritchard, Scheierman, Hauser, Tillman, Horford
Springer, Walsh, Kornet, Queta

That leaves one spot for a vet minimum and if Davison and Peterson are resigned, one spot for a two-way, which should be drafted today with #54. FWIW, I don't think Davison can cut it at the pro level because of his defense.
