Not really. It's the same thing as most conspiracy theories, connecting dots which don't really connect by leaping over other rational explanations

Teams cover their bases. Better to bring in a guy for a visit and not have the chance to get him than not bring him in for a visit and have him on the board

It's more likely the Nets didn't want him, otherwise they would've traded for 24 and future picks to draft him, instead of trading for just future picks

This is a pretty stupid conspiracy theory.

Strong reaction. Conspiracy theory?? Stupid??? Relax. I don't this it's that's outlandish. I'm asking a basic question. A you sure he's ours? that's all. LOL.

Every conspiracy theorist says they're just asking basic questions, it's the inability to accept basic answers because they feel a need to be smarter than everyone else which is the problem.

its is outlandish. There is nothing that indicates what you talking about. If the Nets wanted him and he was owed to them the pick would have been traded as well. What you suggest would be the most backwards way ever to acquire him.

The question are you sure you are using your brain here.

I'm not trying to sh*t on the G League here, but in terms of learning to play team defense, you're much better off in Europe than the G League, and it's similar there where they wouldn't just give him minutes, he'd need to earn them. Cause European leagues are professionals trying to win, they're not there to hype up prospects.

I'm not an expert, but I think staying in Europe is overrated. OK, Europe plays more defense than the G league (I thought it was d league, but what do I know). But if he comes here, he works out with the team and gets some time on the regular roster. I find it hard to believe that Europe is somehow better for development than practicing with the team.

Just my 2 cents.

Here's how - there's been a ton of speculation that the Knicks need to add to the deal to avoid being hard capped. A number of options have been presented, including Deuce who is highly valued. This is merely another speculative option. Maybe the Nets stated they didn't want a pick in this draft generally but if Dadiet was available they would take him on.

If the answer is that the Knicks can't do that or that it doesn't prevent the hard cap then that kind of squashes that speculation. I don't have my head fully wrapped around the new CBA. But right now there's a bunch of uncertainty in how that deal might play out or if it goes through as presented.

Pretty happy with the results. I don't know Dadiet at all but I trust the FO. I wanted Kolek in the first round, so pretty good

Answer (a) ... the Knicks can't do that. The rookie salary doesn't count for trade purposes until the player is signed. Then you have to wait 30 days to trade them. I don't think Mikal et al are going to wait until mid August to do this.

[edit] fwiw, I don't see anything in the CBA to stop the Knicks from guaranteeing Diakite and including his 2.25m salary in the trade if the Nets would agree to it, or for that matter sending him anywhere else, which would reduce the money coming in to below 110%. But, ldo, I can well be missing something.

I don’t know who remembers this other than me and Capn’O but “Paco” was his pet nickname that Greenie would call him.

I mean. The Nets could for example try to insist on Dadiet being included in the trade along with, eg, Diakite in order to accept the latter. But Paco's future salary doesn't play a role for the trade. (It does for the teams' salary sheets, however.)
