I wonder what the hell the Heat are doing. Two finals appearances and they haven't done anything of any real significance, even let players walk that were looking for contracts.

If I were a Heat fan I'd be pissed, Butler is in the twilight of his prime heading into this season...seems like such a waste.

Maybe Riley just doesn't have it anymore.

Damn. DET always made sense to overpay Harris. They really need a shooting PF. I was hopeful that maybe they ended up with Harrison Barnes for that role via trade (rumors that SAC wants Ingram and maybe DET could have been compensated to take Barnes into cap space as part of that). Utah was the other team with cap space that was in on Harris too.

I figured that if those two teams went with other options, Harris would be looking at MLE or room exception offers. And you never know. I never presented it as likely or probable. But free agency can be a game of musical chairs and sometimes good players end up on the minimum so you never know.

Anyway, on to other options...

Batum fits this team like a glove. If he was taking a minimum deal though, I'd imagine it would be back in PHI to start at PF. But again, you never know. I'd go hard for him.

Otherwise, I think I'd just roll with what he have. Guys like Taurean Prince, Kyle Anderson, etc. would be solid fits (maybe not Anderson because shooting) but limited enough upside that 'd rather give kids a shot to play those minutes. You can trade for a vet min stretch 4 at the deadline if you need. We have Springer's deal to give for a guy that makes a little more than the minimum even.

Cs will still win 60 games next season.

That was all prior to winning the championship. It's all about staying healthy and fresh this season IMO. Let Felger, Mazz and Murray say the sky is falling to their listeners after a loss.

Would not shock me if Hayward retires. I have not read one thing about any team having interest in him.
