I think the Mavs got a serious upgrade in their offensive power when they desperately needed a third guy who can get buckets. Can they get back to the NBA Finals? Maybe. The West is still tough so it's hard to say and it depends on matchups but I think they improved their team. Klay is the guy that scored, what was it like 61 points when he dribbled the ball only a handful of times? He's now playing with two of the most ball-dominant players in the league.
Like the Suns, the Mavs contending is going to come down to health, but they got Luka in his prime and have surrounded him with players that fit their roster construction. Unlike the Suns, where we have a bunch of mismatched parts. Hopefully, the new coach can turn this team around.
I think for what they got him for/gave up, it's a no brainer. At the very least he's better than THJ. His skill set also works really well next to Luka/Kyrie. Thing is, he hasn't been too crash hot in the playoffs for a minute.
