Terribly myopic contested ISO shooting by Poland.

Poor closeouts.

Finland hitting open 3s now.

3 point game after Poland has led in double digits through most of it. If they lose, it's a self inflicted wound.

"It was said"? Lol what? Yea 29 pts where initially needed, but as I explained in my previous post that changed once Slovenia scored 102pts since total points is the next tiebreaker after point differential. Why are you arguing so adamantly about this when you obviously dont know the rules?

This is correct i believe the next tiebreaker is indeed Points For. That said, perhaps Slovenia did not do the math on the fly or nobody did the math on the fly. LOL

They did. And Luka made deal with Ili to miss freethrow intentionally so Slovenia has chace to reach 29pt win. But they missed 2 3s

Angola losing to Lebanon after putting up such a fight against Spain is a shocker.

Madsen with 15 of his 18 points in the 4th quarter. He was a crucial part of Finland's comeback against Poland.

The discussion was 29 pts vs 28 points as pointed out by _jin, Luka/Slovenia did know that they end up #1 if they beat NZ by 29 points, BUT they did not know that they'd also be #1 even if they beat NZ by just 28 points (Current Points For, the the next tie breaker is Slovenia 196, Croatia 194-- _jin is correct, Luka did not need a 3 and could have gotten the 2...

But hey water under the bridge now-- Greece will plaster this medicore Slovenian team by 30 points. Even if Luka explodes, Slovenia has a low chance for an upset...

Puerto Rico about to steal this non-bearing game (positioning matters though) vs. Italy. They lead by 6 points with 4 minutes to go in the game.

Fun Saturday ahead of us! Greece-Slovenia is obviously the headliner and Italy-Lithuania probably the 2nd best match-up.

As for the games in Riga tournament, I obviously hope that Latvia can get past Cameroon. And let's see if Philippines can keep up their hot shooting, wouldn't mind a re-match with them in the Final :D

A rematch Latvia would win handily this time i think. But, Brazil first. We're big underdgos still and we don't know the status of our starting center (Sotto). Even if he plays, Brazil has lots of big to throw at him. i think we keep it close, cover the spread but lose the game. i hope i am wrong. :D

Crazy how DR, Croatia, Greece and Slovenia are all in the same group. I have Greece making it, but Croatia has the bodies to crowd the paint, while not sacrificing their own offense, cause it's basically Zubac, Saric, Hezonja limiting space on defense. Plus, Calathes being a non shooter could hurt Greece. But we'll see. Anything can happen in single game elimination.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

That OQT is insane. NZ was one of the best "smaller" teams in the OQTs, FIBA released some power rankings before the tournament and they had NZ at 12 and DR at 13. That's 5 of the top 13 teams all the same tournament. Even Egypt is a decent team who could have won a game had they been drawn in another OQT. And imagine if DR had been at full strength with KAT, Horford, Lester Quiñones, LJ Figueroa and Angel Delgado.

I still think Greece will win and qualify but they are missing so many players, they're not looking great. I agree that Croatia is a tough matchup for them and of course Luka can win a game by himself.

0% chance of that happening. Even Slovenian fans in forums are calling for him to rest. He's moving up and down like me when i hurt both of my ankles. :D There is a video of him after the game talking to reporters, he was barely able to stand up straight.

And i would surprised if Giannis doesn't score easy 40pts.

Complete odds for the semis of all OQTs:

Philippines +11.5 vs Brazil
Greece -8.5 vs Slovenia (a bit too low? Though the dog here has Luka so i guess that's fair)
Bahamas -27.5 vs Lebanon
Cameroon +12.5 vs Latvia
Dom Republic +9.5 vs Croatia
Finland +18.5 vs Spain
Italy +5.5 vs Lithuania
Puerto Rico -13.5 vs Mexico

Allow me to politely disagree in one point: the only reliable big for Brazil is Caboclo. Felicio makes a turtle looks like Usain Bolt. And also the Brazil is not consistent at all. Look at the first half against Montenegro and Cameroon. Hopefully Brazil wins, but it will be a very close game.

By the way, Caboclo should be a good gamble for NBA teams needing rim protection and more big bodies in the paint.

He is not Kevin Durant, but is more serviceable than a lot of bigs in the league. I'd happily accept him on the Bulls roster.

EuroLeague related, but damn.......Olympiacos with an almost as big as Mirotic to Barca level contract to Vezenkov.

What would be equal to a $53.5 million NBA contract (in US dollars and in gross terms).
