Stephon Castle was one of the main prospects I hoped the Hornets might nab at 6. Harrison Ingram was my hoped for Hornet at 42.
The Spurs selected both of them.
Then signed Chris Paul.

They say that luck means you stick your foot in the door and the wind blows it open. The Spurs seem to have all the luck.

I'm jealous of their offseason.

The Heat offered Caleb Martin a multi-year contract extension before he opted out of a contract that would have paid him $7.1 million next season. Martin declined that offer.

That decision seems questionable to this point, because he apparently hasn’t found similar money on the open market. Perhaps that changes.

Because of NBA rules, the Heat is no longer in position to offer that same contract to Martin that it offered before he opted out on Saturday. If the Heat chose to use its remaining $7 million under the second apron on Martin, a multiyear deal could not approach what Martin has been seeking because of NBA rules limiting annual raises. Raises could have been larger if Martin signed the extension before opting out.

A source close to Martin said he had been hoping for a deal easily topping $15 million annually. Teams have expressed interest, including Philadelphia, but nothing had materialized as of Thursday morning.

Found himself in a mini-Bridges situation.

Castle will be the best player in this draft. I wanted him as well. He's my favorite to win ROTY.

Surprised Fournier had it in him. I bet it was a very smooth, very slow choke.

Kind of like President Bill Clinton when he didn't inhale?

Malik Monk makes a cameo in the starting lineup. Really proud of him for his growth. Late bloomer. Still.

euro players definitely get more passionate in the national games.
remember when Batum punched someone in the nuts? more aggression than we saw in his whole Charlotte career.

much much much easier to find talent when you pick in the lottery versus the 20s.

also, this technically isn't true since Sabonis should be considered one of their draft picks as ORL picked him for the Thunder... here's the list of 1st rounders:
Mitch McGary, Josh Huestis, Cam Payne (might land with a team maybe?), Sabonis, Terrence Ferguson, Darius Bazley, Poku
investigate Adam Silver

I don't think it's a coincidence that the Celtics and Thunder had the best records in the league playing a lot of 5 out combined with tough team defense. Finding a Horford/Porzingis, Holmgren, Embiid, Turner, JJJ, Lopez, etc. is really hard though. A big that can stretch the floor AND defend is probably the hardest player archetype to find right now.

Haywood with the loyalty discount - back to MIA on a cheap 2 year/11mm deal. Dang. Dang, dang, dang. Would've loved him as another swappable 3/4.

Wemby assuming health.
