If he's a guy Thibs trusts to play 10-15 minutes on nights when someone is out great.

If his salary can be added to whoever we sign with the tax MLE and/or Precious at the deadline to complete a trade that upgrades us, even better

If he needs to be anything more than that, no good.

Whoever is playing with Brunson, Mikal, OG, Randle, Donte etc.is going to feast if they have any ability, those guys going to draw so much focus. He looks like he can be that opportunistic kind of role player.

has this been confirmed? we can spend all the way up to the 2nd apron?! :o

yes based on reports...

I know we can't exceed the 2nd apron, but can we spend up to it? that's the sticking point for me.

in a nutshell, how much flow do we have to spend on players? besides the $5.2 mil TPMLE?

Only min deals, trades (without giving away more salary), and sign and trades (with BYC rules).

so this is incorrect? I hate this cap shyt.

first time I try pulling a quote from another thread in to a different one. let's see how it goes 8-)

We can spend up to 188,9M by signing a TMLE (5.2M), making trades (without getting more salaries), sign and trades (with BYC rules), and min salary guys.

If he can defend well, maybe you can go extra small at times with OG at the 5 him at the 4 Mikal at the 3 Hart at the 2 Brunson

Bench depth. They are giving Thibs options so he doesn't have to run 8 man rotations all year long. We are getting deeper with every move we make. Preserve the big guns for the playoffs should be everyone's goal this season. Having this guy at the back end of the bench is far better than what we had last season and, wing depth is important with OG injury history too.

Like yeah I rather Diop play the 12 minutes that Randle sits than Thibs playing Hart or OG an extra 12 minutes to compensate. He’s a Thibs guy who looks designed to be able to help maintain a lead. That is what we need.

That's what he's here for. $2.65M in extra spending. Tack that to an MLE guy at $5.34M and Precious at around $11.5M and you have the ability to absorb a $19M role player. Or merge the 3 with someone like Randle (I'm not supporting that) and you can land a max player.

One thing you can say about Bates-Diop -- he's no Shake Milton!

This is my thinking - can Precious deal plus the extra $2.65MM put you in position to do a Valancunis for 2nds deal

I don't think Valanciunas is who they want to be honest.

Aside from rookie scale guys, all centers who average 1.5+ BPG are earning $20M+. That's more likely who they are after.

Nope. He’s not that good and there’s a reason he was a filler for the KD trade but keep on thinking the knicks won something in this trade. Maybe it will happen.

I think we will enjoy the #1 pick and a multitude of the Knicks future while having a great front court of Clax and Clowney next to Cooper Flagg.

Your boy Brunson wasn’t even close to the level of Cam Thomas at 22. I wouldn’t be so cocky.

Not that good for Y'all :D But he was good the year prior playing for the Spurs. We have culture and great coaching going for us. We boosted up Precious Achiuwa and Im sure Thibs can do the same for the guy he originally picked.

PS. Thanks for allowing us to fleece you for Mikal.

#1, lots of players were better than Brunson at 22. Not a lot of those around anymore.

#2, if and when Cam Thomas turns out to be a superstar, we all know he’s gonna leave your small franchise anyway so you might as well stop holding onto him now and spare yourself the pain. That or he’ll turn out to be batshyt crazy. Or both.

#3, on the positive side, no one will care about your franchise when that happens
