I am pumped for this Olympics. US bringing the superstars, obvious favourites and yet there is 4 to 5 teams that can cause problems for the US. France is absolutely terrifying.

Definitely the hardest Olympics yet for a star studded US team.

Canada is really the only serious contender from that group.

Overlooking spain is always a bad idea.

worst team in liek 30 years? yes

namewise.

but, fiba works in other directions, " stars" dont matter us much as cohesion and team play.
And there. right there spain still has something.
otherwise they would have already fallen today.

I think this is where this goes...

Some scrimmage highlights. Cooper Flagg on the floor gets a nice dunk. From the camera angle you can also get a good feel of just has massive of a human being Embiid really is. You can tell they are hyped. Lebron looking intense out there. Pretty physical looking scrimmage.

By the way.

Rudy Fernandez will play his 6th olympics.

It is a record for any ( male) basket player

To be fair, Finland was two minutes away from upsetting them in the semis, even without Markkanen. Not too great for Spain imo, they looked weak. So, I wouldn't expect too much from this Spain team this year.

Spain is nothing to me anyways because of merc Brown.

Was interesting to see a number of possessions with Bam and AD together

Happy for Jose Alvarado and the rest of Team Puerto Rico. 4-0 in qualifiers and pretty dominant as well.

From the footage have to conclude that the select team can't shot at all.

KD has a calf strain and has yet to practice. Hope it doesn't linger. He is a geezer after all.

Yeah but does it really matter? This team has enough talent to win NBA titles for years.

The few times Team USA lost was never because of missing players but just a failure to adjust to FIBA gamestyle/rules/refs/schedule. And to be fair it's not easy, it takes most Americans about a year of playing in Europe to perform at 100%. That's the only challenge for this team IMO.

Ant Edwards is definitely the league's reigning Yap master at this point. That's shaky ground to stand on.

12 teams are set for the Olympics:

Eight countries battled for the last four berths in Sunday’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament finals, held in Greece, Spain, Latvia and Puerto Rico.

Greece 80, Croatia 69: After leading Greece past Luka Doncic and Slovenia in Saturday’s semifinal, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 23 points to help the hosts hold off Croatia in Sunday’s final — booking his first trip to the Olympics

Spain 86, Bahamas 78: Spain earned its seventh straight Olympic berth by edging out Buddy Hield and the Bahamas 86-78 in Valencia, Spain

Brazil 94, Latvia 69: Brazil used a 19-0 run in the 1st quarter to run away from hosts Latvia in Sunday’s first final

Puerto Rico 79, Lithuania 68: Puerto Rico is headed to the Olympics for the first time in 20 years, as Jose Alvarado led the hosts to an 11-point win Sunday night to claim the 12th and final spot at the Paris Games

Qualified Olympic Teams (12/12): Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Japan, Puerto Rico, Serbia, South Sudan, Spain, USA

Rematch between France and Germany in Montpellier, France, tonight at 9:00/9:10pm CET (3pm EST) on the NBA website/app or lequipe tv. Hopefully Theis and Wagner bros are back for Germany and Collet uses normal rotations.
