I do have my thoughts on this. I think a lot of potential moves are being held up on the Jazz decision with Lauri Markkanen. For example I don't think the Jazz are making any other offloading moves before they figure out what they will do with him.

I assume if we wanted to go down the 3 team route...I would think someone would easily give up a 1st round pick for Duece if we wanted to go down that route and the re-route to Utah.

That price doesn't seem unreasonable to me...I don't think we would have expected to be less than a 1st round pick.

Depends on what else the "at least" means,

Don't worry, Ainge would also want #1 picks, so it's very doubtful Deuce is going to Utah.

Well … ?

He definitely doesn’t lack effort while attacking the offensive glass. It is reckless, but he shows effort on it.

He hit his first two free throws to start the game. If what Utah is asking for is a first round pick, I wouldn’t feel bad about the Washington first rounder.

Having him come off the bench in a playoff game wouldn’t worry me like Sixers did when Paul Reed came in

they are certainly looking for a legit 1st rounder (not a "fake" one that still has a high likelihood of not conveying).

So we would need it to be a 3 team deal, correct?

Im not giving up Duece in a deal for him if im being honest. I’d rather keep Duece and wait for a C to get cut at the deadline

I wouldn't want to give up much more than Duece for him (or 3 team whatever dueces value in terms of re-routing draft picks to utah). But its just about minutes and NEED more right now.

Brunson is 34-36 mins
Mikal is 34-36 mins
OG is 34-36 mins
DD is 24 mins at least
Hart is 24 mins at least
Randle is 34-36 mins

Our center rotation of Mitch and whoever else is playing center is going to be another 48.

That leaves what 8-10 minutes for Duece a night just backing up Brunson. With DD coming off the bench that certainly complicated Dueces role. And we have insurance with Kolek and potentially the TPMLE to get a vet guard as well.

Mitch being injury prone could derail our season if we don't get a viable backup/spot starter big.

I understand the duece love but where are his minutes coming from with DD on the bench? Hart is also not a guy that is not just going to play 20 mins off the bench he will play more.

Food for thought

Utah and Golden State are talking Marakkanen

Golden State can only trade 2 future 1’s unless they amended the pick they owe Washington (2030 top-20 protected). If they get that back, they can trade 4 future 1’s under the Stepin rule.

We own a WAS pick protected for the next 2 years turning into 2 2nds in 26 and 27. So most likely this is back to back picks in the mid 30’s

How can we enter this deal where we essentially return Washington’s pick, end up with Kessler and help Utah get more value from golden state in a Lauri deal.

Kessler looks very mid. Not worth a 1st round pick or deuce

hmmm that is interesting. Maybe us sending the Wasington pick back to washington allows washington to send the GS pick back to GS...to open up more 1st for GS to trade...to then somehow re-route Kessler to us.

I understand the duece love but where are his minutes coming from with DD on the bench? Hart is also not a guy that is not just going to play 20 mins off the bench he will play more.

This I agree on. The minutes situation definitely seems glaring, and signing Kolek to his deal gives more backup G insurance.

I do stand with Duece as a player > Kessler as a player. Minutes, player position need are a real thing too though.

Would offering both Wash+Det = the “real 1st” they want?

Honestly not sure. I guess we will find out eventually. But it just seems intersting we haven't even brought back Precious back.

Bondy wrote an article that thibs views him more as a PF than a true center. That just goes to show you how traditional Thibs likes his centers to be.
