Re: Would you move Deuce for Kessler?
I would since the Knicks brought in Mikal which is going to eat into the backcourt minutes available for Duece and DDV. The Knicks still have Kolek as emergency depth and it seems easier to find guard depth on the market than center depth.
My question is why would Utah trade a young quality center for another small guard with limited point guard skills? They have George, Sexton, Clarkson and they drafted Collier. Couldn't they trade Kessler to fill another position or try to find more value somewhere else?

Re: Would you move Deuce for Kessler?
Nope.
Jazz are a developing team, and if they are parting with him, that means they don't really value him. I think we can cobble together a few vets (Robin Lopez, Willie Cauley Stien) and pay them a hair over the min, then trade them in february for a more sustainable answer.
McBride was home grown and has an important role.

Re: Would you move Deuce for Kessler?

He's the new Benny Blanco center on the Knicks, so we're trading our youth away? FKn Knicks fans are ridiculous. This dude Kessler got eaten by a rookie last night. FOH.
We need a backup, but you guys think cause he's white he's the next Bill Walton abd will get us a chip

Re: Would you move Deuce for Kessler?
I think I would. Similar age, similar contract situation, but fills an immediate need, and could grow into a starter for us at C.
I love what Deuce brings, and I’m in no rush to trade him, but ultimately I think his fate is the same as Quickley’s, and at some point he’ll be moved. If Leon and Co want to cash that chip now because they think Kessler is the guy, I’m on board.

Value wise it wouldn't be unfair but I do tend to agree with the general sentiment of this post---Mitch and Kessler are very close in what they provide.....if we were to move Deuce and picks I'd look at a stretch PF/C that provides outside shooting....would really balance out our frontcourt nicely.

Is there one out there though…and almost as importantly, does he make less than Deuce’s $4ish million a year? I’m sure Kessler representing less incoming salary is another big reason the Knicks are interested.

Re: Would you move Deuce for Kessler?
If deuce was available for Kessler he wold have been gone. Deuce is very valuable because of what he demostrated in the play-offs- because he can score and defend and his CONTRACT.
Utah could flip him easy!
Now, as far as do I think Kessler is worth Deuce? I cant really answer that because I need to know how Thibs feels...thats the key...

I just need 12 good fouls on Embiid. Otherwise we have Mitch, Precious and to a lesser extent Sims for actual basketball minutes.

Deuce ain’t a pg, Mitch averages 42 games a season.

3-D combo guard.
in 14 games as our starter, he averaged 18ppg 3 boards, 4 assists.
It's rare to find a guard who can challenge other teams top ball handlers without help, who can be a scoring guard, but who also can be a role player and allow others to cook.

Re: Would you move Deuce for Kessler?
We just signed Tyler Kolek to the largest contract in history for a rookie 2nd rounder
Why would we do that just to stash him behind McBride and DiVincenzo off the bench?
and we still got Rokas Jokubaitis?
Somebody should get traded for Kessler

Well some theorize that Lauri Markeenan is holding up any Kessler trades. I personally think something is cooking because we haven't yet signed Precious ....even though he is by far the best available bigman out there.
So far I see that the board is almost equally for and against moving Deuce for Kessler....
