I own a smash burger and pizza restaurant now and it has ruined fast food for me. The chains are tasteless if you eat hand pattied burgers with sharp american cheese and good bread.

Wendy’s ran their brand into the ground, I remember they were always considered a step above mcds and such and now they’re below Burger King from what I’ve seen.

I'm sure it's different based on where you live, but I've only had food poisoning twice and both times was at Burger King. Wendy's is going to have to put in a lot of work before I'll ever consider BK over them.

That said fast food these days is too expensive to be worth it. Even Taco Bell is getting up there. It only costs a few more dollars to get a much, much better meal at a real Mexican restaurant. I think a lot of fast food businesses are going to close over the next decade because of this. They swallowed the corporate koolaid too much and raced themselves all the way to the bottom. People aren't going to pay for **** food at high prices just to pad quarterly profit margins.

A lot of them over expanded, see Subway with like 50k restaurants.

My rural county with maybe 65k population has like.... 6 subways that I know of.

A lot of the fast food jobs will be automated eventually. Like a lot of grocery stores that have replaced cashiers with self-checkouts.

That isn't a good thing to me though, people need jobs whether they're scraggly or not.

Which is scary for the future.

People with no jobs don't have money they go looking for it. Crime is going to spike when all these people are without jobs in the future.

That's a long trip for me. I do visit Asheville during the winter months so I might stop by there during the winter after my trip to Asheville.

Bojangles is even worst. It's a tourist spot now. If I want fast food chicken I just go to Chick-fil-A or Zaxby's.

Bojangles was my first job in highschool. I loved it back then, but that was because it was the only chicken spot around my city. As I got older the food just seemed to be mid.

Zaxbys fell off worse than Wendys which is a shame cause it used to be my favorite spot
now in Texas I have Canes which is better than current Zax but trash compared to prime Zax

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of most (if any) fast food fried chicken. To me the breading is always greasy/overly seasoned.

I was in blowing rock last week at the Ragged Inn. I almost stopped by foggy rock to say hi. Now I don't feel so guilty.
