Absolutely it's his call, but man that is a lot to put your body through. That knee is cooked. If he can't even play in the Olympics after several weeks of rest, I dunno how he's playing more than 30 games next season.

He'll prob average sub 30 games the next two seasons then sit out the third season... collecting those Ballmer checks and waiting out his HOF induction.

What a depressing time it much be for LAC fans.

It’s sad to see such a talent go down like that. This is a player who had the potential to finish at the top of the GOAT debate. Let’s be real, nobody would’ve been surprised had he won another championship in LA.

You can’t help but feel bad for him because he’s one of the few genuinely great players who didn’t really give off the appearance of being an egomaniac

You seem to have no idea what you’re talking about… pro-ball isn’t for everybody.

I don't think you get the difference between given ability and acquired ability.

Given ability are things like reflexes, height, build, quickness, explosiveness

Acquired are things like shooting, timing, passing accuracy, strength

He is 6'1.5" at the combine and had good scores for jumping, speed and agility. Also has 6'7" wingspan. He has the measurables of an NBA player.

I don't know his game well enough to say if he has a good bbiq or not.

What we all know is that his shooting and scoring stats are poor at present.

Fixing a jump shot for someone with a work ethic is actually pretty easy. Usually guards who cannot break down a defense continue to struggle with that over time. I don't have evidence that Bronny CAN'T do that.

Now you would think that LeBrons kid would have taken some shooting lessons with Ray Allen, but fwiw, JJ is now his head coach.

The only thing I trust JJ to teach anyone is how to shoot.

I can't find the commercial, but in the 2000's there was a shooting program that advertised "Shoot the ball like JJ Redick"

At the end of the day, he has to improve a lot to be a useful player, but he has all the tools perhaps aside from health at the moment.

You don’t get it. This dude may not ever learn to play on that level. Not even everybody who is fundamentally sound and dominates in college makes it in the league. Basketball is more than height and measurables. You can’t teach this level of play to everybody who looks like an NBA player.

What’s more, the notion of JJ Redick being able to fix Bronny‘s jump shot just because he was a good shooter himself is so ridiculous. He is the head coach. You think he is going to stand there in the gym with a million dollar wannabe pro-athlete trying to fix his jumper?

I hear your point, and I think where we disagree largely is that while I think Bronny COULD develop into a player, you are thinking I believe it is likely.

And do I believe JJ would do that? Yes. 100% LeBron is LeCoach, JJ has assistants who know how to actually do that job. I think he is genuinely going to be there to be a rotations guy, talk game plan, and since shooting is his forte and he has a legit shooting program he was the spokes person for over a period of years in the 2000's, I think he will make sure he takes care of his friend/business partner (LeBron)'s son.

Okay, fair enough. I think that kid grew up around the game, literally with a basketball gym at home and anything else you could imagine. He is what he is now as a shooter. He might turn out to be good regardless, I really don’t know, but what I can tell you is that I’ve played against so many unreal athletes and they were also damn good basketball players, yet none of them was close to NBA talent. I’ve seen 6’2 guys throw down alley-oops left and right, it means nothing.

Do yourself a favor and watch clips of Mike James play one on one. He isn’t even in the NBA. The level of competition in the NBA is not for everybody. You cannot just pick that up nor be coached into it.
