I thought he was a pretty good defender at Duke, as well, if I remember correctly. Might just be a matter of getting him engaged again.

Nah. He'll probably start but no guarantee. What were his other options? A **** multi-yr deal for a team that already has their starter set?

The Bucks were the only team with an open starting spot that he could compete for. He only needed to sacrifice $2.6M for one year to get a bigger deal next year. It seems foolish to believe if someone out-performs him in camp that they wouldn't get the spot. GTJ's ideal role with Bucks is eventually being a 6th-7th man shooter.

And who in that shi.show bunch of 2s we have will replace him.

The player who fits best with the other 4 starters is the one who's going to start.

So you think we have a competent coach?

If anything we are probably overstaffed; the quality of coaching is pretty excellent, however. People will be very negative about Doc, but the people behind Doc are incredibly competent.

Would you trade our coaching staff with Philly's? They wouldn't

Neither of our coaches last year seemed to have "control" of the team. Having the inmates running the asylum rarely ever works.

It's psychological.. they have to "feel like" the leaders but when the **** is hitting the fan the coach has to have the personality or relationship with them that they can sit them when injured or pull them in a game without causing a big revolt.

Our staff far better than Sixers.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

dame, wright, and GTJ is an insane 3 guard combo for what we expected coming into the offseason. i could give a **** who starts. it doesnt matter

like literally

wright
GTJ
khris
giannis
lopez

i could be convinced thats the best combo. it fits historically what worked. lets make dame the wildcard..... who cares its a massive upgrade this guy we got

ps..of course dame should start and hopefully dominate...thats not my point of the post

Not sure how you measure it but Nurse wouldn't have let the series vs Indy turn into 1v1 playground ball... complete embarrassment. Doc did... and he's still here. Several questionable decisions post All Star break. Maybe where we disagree is at the top Doc vs Nurse.

Haven’t really looked at the numbers but the volume of 3s we can rain down with Dame, Trent, Mids, Prince lineups around Giannis at center, not to mention Brook and Portis shooting. AJ Green depth and youngin Tyler Smith looking like his shot is pure. Geeked
Shoot, Move, and Communicate...

Spoiler:

The playoff series with no Giannis, gimpy Dame and Middleton with 2 bad ankles? Yeah I'm not judging based on that. I'm not a huge Doc fan but I take him over Nurse every day. Add in the assistants and it's a larger gap.

Honestly that's an interesting question. I'd guess both Bucks fans & 76ers fans would turn down opportunities to trade coaching staffs. How many fanbases would trade their coaching staff for ours and how many coaching staffs would we trade ours for?
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

Let's go a little deeper.

1. He was closest to the Giannis injury situation and let him play
2. Stuck with Bease and Pat too long into the season and...
3. Furthermore, didn't see the upgrades right on his bench... waited too long and wasted a chance to fully integrate AJJ and AJG ahead of the playoffs to get them ingrained

These are misses that several fans saw and he didnt realize until the playoffs started

I honestly have zero confidence in Doc and it hurts because I was happy with the hire at the time and I know we're stuck in it now

On a surface level Doc looks better... positives
1. Legend-like status
2. Popular
3. Handles the refs and media like... well media which is good
4. Main thing is he's not AG

Decision making is a big part of coaching and that scares me that his head seems like it's up his a$$ ... maybe he should sit down when he's coaching and he can pay attention better idk.

ajax was not an upgrade lol.

they had to play giannis or they had a chance to fall into the playin

they had no other options then to hope pat figured it out. (a good bet)
