Anything involving a massive transfer of wealth from the taxpayer to the government that isn't necessary to have a functioning government. It's not likely to actually get a cut to counterproductive subsidies, but at least cut back on some of these government positions where people are actually getting paid to slow wealth creation.
What I support. Revolutionizing education through school choice. Every parent should have a right to send their child to a school that isn't failing and has no incentive to improve. Make neighborhoods safer by locking up dangerous predators that harm women, children and society in general.
Let's cut as much red tape as possible so that those with limited knowledge on how to navigate and pay for a bunch of permits and licensing, can actually get into business. Let's get rid of the gatekeeping.
A country with so many regulations that cops have to come out to shut down kids running a lemonade stand is disgusting. Let's leave people's sexual activities and kinks back in the bedroom and out of the public and absolutely out of the schools.
Let's secure our borders so that the taxpayer isn't forced to fund people whose first act in America was to commit a crime. If Dems want more immigrants, then by all means they can earn support for that legally and change immigration laws. But as it stands, this is criminal.
First of all, parents have school choice. If they don't like the schools in their area, they already have options. They can put them in private schools or even home-school them. An alternative instead should be raising the standards at a Federal level and even look at how other developed nations do so, and use that as a baseline. Education is very important, but implementing things like vouchers is just enriching the families who already have the funds to send their kids to the best schools and make them even richer. Besides, we've already seen proposals from GOP individuals who claim to be pro-life and refuse to feed kids while they are in class. And everyone should know that a hungry child is a child that is not learning. And children who are not learning result in failing schools.
And a country with regulations is not the problem, it's how they are implemented. Want cops to stop shutting down kids running a lemonade stand? Get the right people to change how police should be utilized.
Also, going back to education and with the topic of keeping sexual activities and kinks out of schools, there aint no teacher worth their salt that is spending time doing that instead of teaching important subjects with a full curriculum for a specific grade. Teachers literally don't have time to do that. They have to teach kids what they need to know, so that when they're older, they are prepared for the real world. Any teacher doing anything else shouldn't be in the field. And while we're on the subject, education should be a paramount policy because it literally affects our future. And one way to help improve our current standing on this is to pay teachers more. Failing schools are failing for several reasons - which I have addressed previously in this post, but if you want the next generation to be on the right track, encourage and hire the best people to teach them.
Finally, immigration policy is such a clusterfk. There was a policy not long ago that had bi-partisan support but was killed because it would give Biden a boost. Well, how can we fix policy when a step in the right direction is dictated simply by politics? People's lives are literally in the balance and nothing got done just because it can help boost poll numbers. Now that's pathetic.
But put yourselves in someone's shoes for a second. You are brought here at a very young age. You have paid your taxes as you got older. You may have even served in the military, but you are not afforded the same privileges as someone who was naturally born here. You are now approaching your 40s and unfortunately, you still can't get citizenship. That's the situation many among us face today. Why are they not treated as any other American at this point? That's the life of a DREAMer. And that's just one example of why thinking that these people should just do it the right way and come here legally are not seeing the situation for what it is. It's way more complicated than that.
