Well damn, dude is an angry sob huh?

Nobody needs them to be scared. They need to be impressed in hindsight. I understand his point and these guys haven’t won anything yet. I think they will, but I can understand that. Three years ago they were all just role players somewhere.

What did Brandon Jennings win again? I forgot. 8-)

I’ve been saying this all along. He’s basically a little bit of Randle insurance and he would become a ball handler for the second unit, which allows Deuce McBride to play to his strengths.

Of course we’d have to deal with the politics but we got Mitch on our team so yea

No.

But where will his minutes come from? Bench is kind of heavy with forwards. There's upside on something like this.

I never understood that draft. We took Jordan Hill over Jennings and Derozan.
I actually felt like if Jennings would have been a rookie under Dantoni his career might have gone differently.

I could see this as a possible precursor move to a Randle trade. It would be to add some depth and veteran presence to a team looking to compete for a championship next year

A few thoughts:

You might be right the Knicks are looking to build backup PF depth in case of a possible Randle trade. At the least, this FO has shown they like to hedge for and against possible scenarios, where they can (should have done better in front of iShart though)

Most likely BKE is recycling rumors for Knicks For Clicks

Maybe the Knicks want a Bogs style depth piece, just in case, and maybe another potential tradable salary.

Not sure if Alt-Right Bogs would enjoy jew and liberal infested NYC, but there's always the suburbs to live in. Alas, I fear no suburb would be far enough away for him.

Maybe they do this if they totally strike out on a center trade, and hope for one at the deadline

Hayward wasn’t happy with how he was used , he’s gonna love the lack of a role here.

How good of a player to you expect to get if there’s no rotation minutes for them? I know you can pretty much bank on OG getting hurt but that probably means you’re just getting his back up 4 minutes. Is that really worth it to come here to play 13 mins a night for around 30 games?

I wanted Derozan is what I remember. Did not want Jordan Hill as I thought he had a milquetoast game to go with a milquetoast intensity level.

As far as Hayward goes? As a fan of Hayward as far back as Butler, he’s a shell of his former self. All the injuries (and age) has basically made him a slow, stiff stat stuffer type if you are looking to tank or an end of the bench guy if you’re trying to win. Did someone really say as insurance in case they trade Randle? As a what? Offense and passing? Do people just look at stats? Hes going to get the Evan Fournier treatment at this point in his career and that’s if he’s lucky. There are better guys left in free agency to focus on. Guys that fit this team and how they play better. Example would be Javonte Green. Another would be Luke Kenard. Trying to get a do all guy that actually can still play at a high level isn’t going to happen in FA. And all you’ll end up with is a role player that isn’t good enough in any role sitting on the bench.

Whelp, I meant there's no upside.

Putting aside his support for Trump, if this is a precursor move to a Randle trade, it's an awful one. Relying on a 35 year old with an injury history to be your backup sounds like the stupidest plan on team building. And the fact that he and his wife (more so his wife) goes at Sam Presti -- who by all accounts is a pretty nice guy -- is all you need to know the moment Gordon collects those DNP. Between OG, Randle (or Randle replacement, which is equally stupid notion), Bridges, and Josh, where is Gordon getting his minutes? Basically RNC Fournier at this point.

Per begley

Rookie Tyler Kolek is currently the backup point guard, ahead of Payne, per people familiar with the matter. The Knicks were thrilled to get Payne last week. (He signed for a veteran’s minimum deal). At the moment, he is viewed as the third lead guard behind Kolek, who had a very strong Summer League.

Begley playing both sides again
Will Kolek be in Tom Thibodeau’s rotation? I don’t know the answer to that question. You can certainly pencil in Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Hart and the Knicks’ yet-to-be-named backup center into Thibodeau’s rotation. Based on current projections after the Payne signing, Miles McBride is in the Knicks’ regular rotation. So to play Kolek, Thibodeau would need to expand his rotation to ten players.
To be clear: the above is based on where things stand coming out of Summer League. This can obviously change based on player performance during training camp/preseason.

There are still vets available on the market you can sign for the miminim like Hayward, Kennard, Osman, Shamet, Jae Crowder, Justin Holiday to have at the end of the bench. Those guys know they will get minutes only if a guy infront of them is injured.
