Edwards needs to learn to pass to bigs better, once he develops those reads a lil better he can reach another level

Maybe he is not wearing the same glasses you are wearing. You know the rose coloured ones.

Ah, this seems to be more you're wearing the glassed. You know the ones you wore when you thought Jokic was the MVP the season Embiid won.

Jokic had the better season. Was the better player put up the better numbers etc. I guess the majority of posters have the same glasses I had.

Like I said, stick to do what you do best.

You’re embarrassing yourself.

Their country doesn’t give two flying ****s about basketball and yet are capable of taking down our supposedly unbeatable team of stars.

Ah the old "we don't care" defense when you lose. I always say that when I lose in anything to be honest. Game of cards; pick up basektball etc. Anytime I lose I Just say oh I don't care or wasn't trying, but when I win, I celebrate like it's the great accomplishment of my life. So i get why people do this.

he only played 5 playoff games this year. Even if you count each of these as playoff games, it'll be like he made it to WCF and lost in terms of amount of basketball played since June.

Read on Twitter

Paul Pierce IS ignorant...and always has been when on TV. He doesn't cover NBA well, and then he's allowed to comment on International basketball, which he has ZERO idea about.

He's a talking muppet who I think the shows are glad to have on because he will no doubt say something that is "click worthy" for social media

I love Pierce as a player but my god he makes it hard to like him off court. Probably why he’s such an underrated player is because he’s a complete idiot off the court.

I hated Pierce as a player, but he was a very good player. I don't think he's underrated too much. He was an excellent Robin, but never truly a Batman on a good team. He had games that he elevated himself as No.1 option, but never the KEY player to a successful team.

He has been SO dumb off court though.
Sometimes a player's greatest challenge is coming to grips with his role on the team

Yup, that's why they were flat out wrong, and the MVP vote was basically a landslide.

2 big reasons why it was so close (and a theme in other games):

1) Effort, especially on defense. The opposing teams are trying MUCH harder and just playing better defense. USA looks like the collection of stars it is, as you don't see many guys willing to do the dirty work or put full effort in. Maybe next time they need some super role players, GPII type guys to make the team to go in for 15 minutes and ramp up the effort level. Just no sense of urgency, not boxing out, not running back hard, while the other team is. Really hard to do well when the other team is playing harder.

2) Kerr. He had his worst season as a coach last year, and it still looks bad here. Just baffling lineups. Then if you see a player not giving his all (especially in these practice games) you call a timeout, yell at them, and sit them on the bench. Kerr is not dictating the effort level enough.

Tatum has easily become the most overrated player in the league. Just got voted #6 in the league... is he even a top 6 player on this team?

Let's accept NBA basketball is a bit different though. Giannis was the MVP of NBA even before being a very good "basketball" player. In addition to more spacing, NBA does not follow the rule book at the expense of more entertainment value (read it as $$$) like relaxed traveling and carrying rules, superstar calls, preferential treatment of some players for drama purposes, and ever changing rule enforcement during the season with "memos to refs". Thus, it is possible to be 6th best NBA player while being 7th best in team USA.

LeBron could continue to play at a (at worst) starting caliber for another 5 years at least imo. I’m not a LeBron fanboy or Lakers fan saying this either, in general I don’t care much for the guy. But his longevity is spectacular.

Has an active NBA player ever been a grandfather? I feel like LeBron may be able to achieve that distinction too depending on his kids lives.

i know Lebron and Embiid will work together but its been awkward so far. I want Embiid to stay a starter but maybe to get some minutes where it is him and Steph without Lebron. Embiid has never not been the engine of the offense at the nail. That is where his real value comes in and why hes on this team, an automatic double team on a top 5 most stacked team in history sounds like a good place to start on offense.

Joel made Seth Curry look like an all star with his fat-ass screens. Imagine steph wrapping around him man. Kerr doesnt do dribble hand offs unless its at the 3 point line though.

Right now it’s overly reliant on LeBron.

Yeah because LeBron's playing point. The bench needs a playmaker. Dust off Haliburton because I don't trust Ant with a basketball in the halfcourt at all.

Embiid remains a baffling recruiting choice by the US team.

Somewhere Embiid has never been. The third round of the playoffs.

Yep. One major weakness with him on the Wolves is he has zero chemistry with Towns and little with Gobert. Towns used to be a walking top ten offense by himself and its pretty crazy to me that Ant and KAT haven't found a way to play off of each other synergistically on the offensive end. If Edwards ever figures out a way to get him involved, it would dramatically alter what that his teams can do on the offensive end.

Even figuring out how to throw some lobs to a big like Gobert would be a massive help to his team.
