Is it possible he will be the best player in the league next season?

Definitely possible. He's my current favorite to win MVP. I have Ja finishing 2nd.

CP3 is going to get him so many easy baskets. They make the playoffs he will be in the MVP discussion on his stats alone.

If France gets these calls along the tournament than US team should be concerned in a potential gold medal game

Worth to note that Brazil attempted only 7 threes.

I went in not caring who wins but the refs ruined that for me. Foul out almost every option Brazil has defensively and then let Wemby dominate.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Victor was also pretty obviously fouled on his two dunks and nothing. They called one on Frank where Yago just slipped. One thing I didnt get was what happened to Lessorts offensive foul there? Other than that, its fine, a bit whistle happy for both sides.

Wemby continues to get stronger. He's about 15 pounds away from really being something we haven't seen since Shaq in terms of dominance.

On Lessort there was firstly a defensive foul before his offensive foul. So it was a double foul.
Victor had not and an evident and one. It is not like in NBA where superstars get so many calls.
LA 2028 (Starters):
Francisco - Strazel - Malédon - Traoré ?
Coulibaly - Fournier
Risacher - Cordinier
Yabusele- Hoard - Essengue/Penda?
Wembanyama - Lessort - Raynaud / Beringer /Sarr?

Assists were not stats until 1992. So it isn't the first time since Drazen. Because in 1984 they didn't count assists.

Greece-Canada, perhaps the best game in Day 1 is set to tipoff 3AM my side of the world.

If you go to 1984 fiba archive page, they counted assists. Oscar averaged 24.1 point per game, but had less than 1 assist per game, 5 total.

Well we actually have a proper world cup with 32 teams, which is a much superior basketball tournament than this afterthought here, but America informed us in unison that "THEY DON"T CARE"

Ok. I figured it might been a foul before hand, because Lessort definitely hook it up against the rules.

I tried s word last August, so since then they lock me in constantly, they dont want me on their conscious.

World Cup is great, but sadly its just not that popular. FIBA greatly benefits from Olympics, since Olympics is such a huge event. It would be cool, if basketball only event gattered same hype, but it just doesn't, sport is not there.
Olympics man, for example, I dont know if national tv in my country ever showed Rugby content ever, probably didn't, but they will show France - Fiji final

In my case Greece' next 2 early games in Milwaukee time, make for easier viewing. Won't be able to catch it live today.

It's absolutely ridiculous that they only have 12 teams. With just 12 teams it means that every Olympics has 25-33 percent of the teams being pushovers, and that 4-5 of the best teams in the world don't even participate.

FIBA has changed it to be 16 teams many times. But every time they change it to 16 teams, the Olympics claims that they don't have any more room to accommodate more athletes in the Olympic village. It's been the same story for years and years.

FIBA changes it to 16 teams, then the Olympics says they don't have room to house anymore basketball players, so it stays at 12 teams.

Yeah, but they were USA style assists, not FIBA assists.

They list assists for the Olympics and Team USA tracked them. But they were way different than a FIBA assist today. It's the same with the old tournaments in Europe.

For example, in old FIBA EuroLeague they used to have assists back in the 80s, but they they had no actual rules on what an assist was. It was like the NBA, where it was just the opinion of the home team scorekeepers.

They used to show stats from EuroLeague of like 20-30 assists in a game for Galis, Petrovic, Giannakis, etc.

So FIBA made it an actual official stat in 1991, and made rules on what counted as an assist. Then the same players suddenly had 3-4 assists per game.... And then they made all the assists prior to that as not being valid or recognized anymore.
