France playing hard until the buzzer, they understand point differential could be important.
Decent game from France, good showing from Brazil. Great atmosphere in the arena, I didnt know what to expect since Lille is not a basketball city.

I like how there are no weak teams in the tournament, Japan and Brazil (with South Sudan) are supposed to be the weakest nations but they showed that they belonged.

Both are injured. Kostas was on the squad until a week or 2 ago when they decided he couldnt be fit in time for the tournament.

They are not good enough to actually be on the national team by merit. They are there because they are Giannis' brothers and everyone knows it.

With that being said, they are both injured. So even if Giannis threw a hissy fit, they could not be on the team this time. But that's good, as it actually helps Greece. Because other players that are better than them are on the team instead.

It's better to have players like Panos Kalaitzakis instead of Thanasis, and Nikos Chougkaz instead of Kostas on the roster, because they are better than Thanasis and Kostas.

Unfortunately though, Greece is still missing like 7 of its best players for various reasons.

In EuroLeague, he was absolutely horrible on team defense, and his general basketball awareness and IQ were just horrible.

Similar to the Aussie-Spain ending, late 3s decided double digit margins, as we keep on reminding everyone point differential matters, even for the top teams (say the 3-0 teams) as the Top 2 willl have earned some advantages (they can't meet each other after the QF random draw) so not only you want to be 3-0 you also one to be the best 3-0 team (decided via point differential).

Greece now 7.5 dogs vs Canada. i think this opened at 5.5 so considerable betting FOR Canada or Greece is just not that good. Thoughts FIBA experts before i lock in another bet?

I hate this kind of post. He’s good enough and special enough without making stuff up. Is there any player that isn’t an amputee who would fit in this frame given where he is positioned in it?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Is it possible he will be the best player in the league next season?

Definitely possible. He's my current favorite to win MVP. I have Ja finishing 2nd.

CP3 is going to get him so many easy baskets. They make the playoffs he will be in the MVP discussion on his stats alone.

I like the Ja pick. I’m high on the grizz as well.

Do you think Wemby would be a better water polo player than basketball if he devoted his life to that sport?

If same condition of “devoted his life to that sport” we can pick most of these sports and see what happens. LOL

Boxing - Jab his way to the gold medal
Gymnastics - Graceful Wemby? LOL
Swimming - Advantage on final lap?
Table tennis - is it legal to smash past the net?
Fencing - duh

Among others.

The only sport he couldn’t do is rugby. The rest he could he could potentially be elite in / Olympian.

He’d be insane in synchronized swimming / diving

He would snap doing the clean and jerk or snatch. Similar to rugby, the build isn't really there. Same would be the case with wrestling. Surfing is another discipline where I don't see him being successful.

He would absolutely destroy the mens race walk though.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Kostas at this point maybe a little better than Thanasis even, but he is that classic guy who can have decent moment in the game but he will have two ridiculous defensive fouls with 1 second left on a clock, it can be infuriating to have that guy on your team. If every Greek player played, neither would probably make the team anyway, as you said. I am a bit stunned Ataman actually played Kostas in big games sometimes, but their frontcourt I guess just wasn't as deep, and if Kostas just wasn't dumb, he would be pretty good.

Starting to hate my Canada pick. Any chance this Greek team is actually better than advertised? 10 minutes to decide!
