The loss to Dallas sucked, but what a difference since the start of the season. Clark has been All-League and entire team has played better since the 1-8 start.

As we wait for the season to resume, here is a picture of CC chilling at today's Yankees game
And here she is in the clubhouse meeting Aaron Judge
Clark to NY confirmed. I've been quiet about this out of respect for Fever fans, but enjoy her while you can
Just kidding.

She's been all over the place. I remember being in my 20s, having seemingly unlimited energy. Until I had to sleep, then I was OUT. I imagine being a basketball player, she craves a certain amount of adrenaline in her leisure time.

I dunno how she does it. I need my peace time when I'm off of work, but she is a kid with a ton of energy.

Re: Indiana Fever 2024
So i'm doing something because we dont have access to player tracking and im counting all the possessions where the fever have scored when clark touches the ball in half court per possessions vs possessions where she doesnt touch the ball at all and through the 1st 3 games ive gotten these stats
Clark touches ball in front court; 136 possessions, 136 points, 100 points, Points per 100 possessions: 100.0
Clark doesn't touch the ball in the front court; 100 possessions, 72 points, Points per 100 possessions: 72.0
I'm also thinking of isolating when she's not on the court separately currently im counting when she's not on the floor as part of the second data set and im also thinking of tracking numbers of these possession during just the 4th quarter
ive also been counting times she's had the ball in the backcourt and thrown it far ahead separately (and the ball has been shot or turned over within 5 seconds so if they retain it but the possession is reset without a decisive result, i file into the second category) and right now after 3 games I've gotten something like this
9 possessions, 9 points on 4-5 shooting (1-1 from 3) with 4 turnovers

I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Wow, that sounds like a LOT of work. Thanks for doing.
Also, if those statistics are for the first 3 games of the season, I am not surprised. Cailtin had an adjustment to make, which people accurately commented on, but whatever problems she had paled in comparison to the awfulness of her teammates. I was shocked. (They have since improved a lot, although the #3 and #4 spots remain concerns.)

Hard to tell, but she planning on not re-signing with Indiana? Should Fever look to trade her in the next 5 days? Or better to let her become a free agent and look to grab other free agents this off-season?

Re: Indiana Fever 2024
Yeah, that didn't sound like a stay answer. Personally, I think her instincts are correct. Kelsey is not the best complement for Caitlin Clark. First, she's not a good defender. Second, Kelsey doesn't play much off the ball. Her strength is creating her own shot, any time she likes. So, Clark's playmaking skills are largely beside the point for her.
I mean, Mitchell is a good player and an asset to have, for sure. I just think that the Fever would benefit by getting a stronger defender into the #2, #3, or #4 slots, so if Indy could swap Mitchell for a player of equal value who fits that bill, the Fever would be better off. And Mitchell would also benefit, by going to a team where she will see more of the ball.

No sense in trading her in the midst of a playoff push. They need her regardless of anything else.
She's just being honest. The roster for the Fever will look significantly different next season imo

Re: Indiana Fever 2024
Just looked at the 2025 free agent list and there are a lot of Olympians and solid players:
- Stewie
- Alyssa Thomas
- Plum
- Satou
- Griner
- Chennedy
Any shot Fever have at any of these players? Can't imagine Stewie wanting to leave NYC. Building around Boston & Clark is nice where they don't even need to go after a star since they have those 2. Role players or star level role players is all they need.

Satou would be a high risk, high reward that I'd like to see out of those players. Fevers defense would be significantly better with a frontcourt of Satou/Boston/Fagbenle (I'm not including Smith, because I don't think she is the answer at PF if Fagbenle is healthy.
But obviously there are very big injury concerns, but with the 2025 free agent class options you don't pass on someone with that kind of versatility.

Re: Indiana Fever 2024
Here are the free agents that would have some interest and that are semi realistic for me:
Sophie Cunningham
Nneka Ogwumike
Satou
Aerial Powers
Temi Fagbenle (Re-sign her / RFA) -- I love her game when she's healthy which unfortunately has been not much this year
Alysha Clark
I might be missing a couple, but those are the best fit / most realistic to me.
A lot of Fever fans are high on DiJonai Carrington, and while she is a very good player I'm not as high on her as most. I think she's a very upgraded version of Lexie Hull which sounds good, but she's not going to replace what Mitchell provides on offense and is more of a glue player than part of a 'big 3'. Also, you'll most certainly have to overpay to get her because she's an RFA and I don't see the Sun just letting her go for nothing.

Re: Indiana Fever 2024
If im an wnba agent i want my player on the Fever. Just a massive difference in exposure which leads to better money off the court. I think the fever can get a discount because of this.

True that. Kelsey Mitchell made the All Star team this year because she was on the Fever. Chennedy Carter was clearly better, but the fan vote affects the selection decisions, and the fans vote for Fever players.

Stewie is ours. Don't even try it

Dijonai is a higher impact player than Hull is, but to your point if you're going to lose a shooter like Mitchell you better have someone that can replace that production
That being said, a Clark/Carrington backcourt would be elite. You'd just need a wing that can space.

That's why I prefaced it with 'very upgraded'.
I just meant that they are players in the same mold -- great perimeter defenders with intangibles and are adequate on offense, but are not going to give explosive scoring most of the time -- at least not the level of a Kelsey Mitchell.
