Clark said they haven't learned how to play with a lead yet, and that seems to be the case.

Eh, maybe. But every team that gets up sometimes loses leads. The Lynx did against the Fever the previous game, was up by double digits and saw its lead cut to 1. To quote the boring but largely true cliche, basketball is a game of runs.

I never thought the Fever would lose the Dream game. Yeah they lost the lead because Mitchell went on a brickfest and Tina Charles was hitting double-teamed fadeaways, but the Fever were getting better looks. Sooner or later their shots would drop and Charles would cool.

Saw this pop up on my feed. That young boy will be her fan for life.

More of this please, we need more boys being exposed to the W and being able to look up to these amazing women.

What is EDD up to? would be a nice stretch 4 to pair with Boston and Clark.

I think Elena might be done. If I recall her injuries and constant battle with Lyme disease has really done a number on her. It sucks because I loved watching her play.

Satou Sabally is a free agent this winter, by the way. I don't wanna get anyone's hopes up, but I'm saying. She might be the one.

i read somewhere (i forget where) that it's actually next year where the big moves are going to happen because of the massive new TV deal leading to the new CBA, and perhaps massive raises. probably expecting 1 year deals from here and the year after is going to be the big franchise altering ones

Valkyries is kind of a cool name for a women's team.

Quality win about the Sun. Even if the officiating was a little suspect.
Clark just misses a 20-5-5 by one point for the second game in a row. But she becomes the first player in the WNBA to have six consecutive 15-5-5s. Kelsey Mitchell sets a franchise record for scoring 20 points five games in a row.

4-1 after the All Star Break. Fever are just one game under .500 now. Hopefully they will get it Friday against the Sky. That last loss against them has to be something they'd like to rectify.

oh man officiating was awful!

Lexie had a really good floor game today. She needs to stay aggressive on offense to keep the defense honest. A couple 3's per game, a few drives, etc. Get some pressure off CC, Boston, & KM.

Hull got the start over Samuelson last night, she wanted to prove she deserved it. She's been looking good out there, always fighting for the ball.

The officiating last night was funny. They kept calling questionable offensive fouls, and then when a coach finally challenged one of those calls they reversed their decision. Made me think that they were wrong on all the previous ones, too.

You can see as soon as CC turned to Kelsey she didn't want to look at her because she knew what was coming  behind closed doors she's probably a mess

Yeah the vibes around this team are immaculate. The way Boston kept Clark focused after she got clobbered by AT on a hard screen was something that really stuck out for me during last night's game. That's a good locker room

There was a lot of physical play that the refs let go last night.

I give the Fever credit. The earlier version of this club would have folded against the Sun playing them like that. This group took the hits and kept on punching back

There were definitely some arguable and inconsistent foul calls. But judgment calls are one thing. More egregious to me were the two missed two out of bounds calls that were obvious in real time, the one off Mabrey that Indiana challenged and won, and the one off Fagbenle that Connecticut didn't challenge. Those were clear objective calls that were just wrong, and shouldn't have been hard to get right.

I did think that the review on the inbounds pass to Mitchell got it right. There was no foul, but it wasn't a travel. In the WNBA, you are allowed to fall down with the ball as long as you don't gain an advantage by sliding. I'm not sure if the refs can re-officiate the whole play or just rule on the foul call that was made, but I don't think it was a travel regardless. However, since the whistle stopped play with the ball clearly in Mitchell's possession, there wasn't really anything else to do but give the ball back to Indiana. It benefited the Fever because Mitchell was in a bad spot, but they couldn't restart the play with Mitchell lying on the floor.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

That's what Lexie needs to bring on the offensive side -- doesn't have to be big points, but at least a couple 3's and layups. She played 30minutes the previous game and only had 2 points. Fever will need more help scoring in the post season.
