Gradey
Gradey definitely looking stronger. Nice to see him working on handling the ball while under pressure. Look at those dunks too! BBQ Dick is going to be fun to watch regardless of W/Ls.

Re: Summer Runs and Random Player Sightings
Used to seeing our guys train with other NBA players over the offseason.
Didn't see much of that from Scottie this summer. Not sure how beneficial it is to train with the Ryerson team but hopefully he still improved a ton over the offseason.

The team has been hanging as a group for parts of the whole summer. Everytime I saw Scottie I saw Mogbo n Boucher. The group was together at SL working out & they went to Spain

The real work happens behind closed doors. Pick up runs is just them playing casual hoops, the caliber of talent isn’t that important in that setting.

Re: Summer Runs and Random Player Sightings
IQ's def motivated to excel after his stint during the previous season which could be best described as probably middling at best. But there's always guys who just get comfortable after getting a big money deal and that's clearly not his mindset at all. That clear self-motivation is probably why the execs were comfortable giving him that cash despite there being doubts based on past/current track record.
A lot of the team's upward trajectory and the capacity to surprise rests on his ability to show an overall improvement and further progression in his game. We just gotta hope he gets there.

I'm hoping for a Lowry lite leap. What I mean is Lowry wasn't an immediate success when he got here. IIRC he wasn't very good after the trade deadline and it was his second (Maybe 3rd) when he broke out.
But I'm getting older and I struggle to differentiate one season from another.

Old footage, but interesting words by Chris Brickley. Do you guys see IQ potentially being an ALL STAR this season!?

Re: Summer Runs and Random Player Sightings
Really like what I’m seeing from Gradey and IQ I predict breakout years for them. Scottie I’m not sure how much he’ll really improve but if he can just maintain his first month of play from last season and not drop off much from there he’ll already be better. Going from 23ppg down to 19ppg by seasons end was a big dip.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid
There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Lowry broke out after the Rudy gay trade in he second season, which was 25 or so games into the year if im remembering that right. He was all star quality from that point on. He averaged 18 that year but believe it was 20 ppg post Rudy trade and he was leaving it all out there every night. Quick is at a smilar age to lowry when he made that leap, so hopefully You’re right. A surprise breakout from him would be amazing.

Scottie has 45 million reasons to keep his foot on the pedal this year

I think the drop-off started because we were integrating IQ and RJ, with and then without Pascal.
Darko probably thought it was better to develop Scottie's offense "behind the scenes"
Also, it gave Scottie a chance to work on Point of attack defense.

Dick's handle looks like complete crap. That should be the focus for him if it's not defense.
