With the amount of money that is being shelled out for media rights, I'd expect there's pressure to continue to do this with other sites.

I don't know how long it will take for Edey (maybe not long at all), but a guy like Morant with a 3pt shooting big like JJJ, a nice SG in Bane and an offensively skilled 7'4'' Edey will be lethal in the future on offense baring injuries and Morant issues. Memphis may have one of the few bigs in the league that can cause Wemby some issues on both sides of the court.

That's insane. But even more crazy in 5 years or so, the top tier guys are gonna get a chance to earn a billion in career earnings if they get on that supermax rookie extension. Wemby and Chet probably have a chance to do it, if they can do 18 year career provided they make all NBA in next seasons. No wonder the OGs like Shaq are always hating

It's going to get more insane with ~10% bumps each season.

And then it keeps going up — the salary cap will pass $200 million for the 2028-29 season. A 10-year veteran player signing a 35% of the cap max contract that summer will start at $72 million a year and the fifth-year salary on that max will be $95 million. (Numbers via Mike Vorkunov at The Athletic.)

One year later, in the summer of 2029, the salary cap will be above $240 million, and a five-year veteran max contract would start at $84.3 million and, by year four, earn $104.6 million per season.

If the cap keeps rising at 10% a year through the 2032-33 season, it will pass the $300 million mark, and the first-year salary on a 35% max will be more than $100 million a season.

SMH They let Lowe go. ESPN NBA coverage gonna get dumber and dumber. ESPN chosing to got the SAS/Mcafee route of loud dumb sports talk for viral moments rather than actual analysis. Didn't agree with all of Lowe's takes but atleast in his podcast he would have intelligent basketball discussions. Get ready for ESPN to shove more Perkins/SAS down your throats for NBA coverage

I'm listening to Bill Simmons talk about it right now, he's zooming out from ESPN letting Zach Lowe go to looking at the direction ESPN is going which you (oreon) mention.

Its a money thing for Wolves. They want off the KAT salary long term. And Knicks don't care about luxury tax, so its a win win for both. Knicks though, now probably have the best starting 5 in the league. If Thibodeau doesnt run the players into the ground and they can stay healthy, they my fav for the chip
