I'm not surprised that he didn't make it since we never saw him back at the MLB level but I don't understand what happened with Bryan Hudson. Just a very weird situation that is making me wonder if there's something else going on.

Surprised Sal is on the roster for this round. Man I get he's struggling lately but tough for Rea to get left off after the season he had.

Yeah, they telegraphed the Rea decision when they let him throw 106 pitches in the finale. Yeah if you told me a month ago he would be healthy and wouldn't even be on the playoff roster I'd be stunned.

Getting bounced again in round 1 and losing Willy is going to be a gut punch to the fans, regardless of the expectations for the team before the season started and the fact that we all knew Willy was leaving no matter what.

We really need this series.

They made the right call on Rea and I'm glad they still have the stones to make those tough calls. Counsell was said to be really good at navigating those tough conversations, and I'm glad that that necessary cutthroat-ness didn't leave the organization with him.

I assume that Hall got Milner's spot, but neither option looks good. I'm not sure who I would put in over him, but I doubt they use him much. Everyone else seems like a pretty obvious choice to me.

We've come a long way since the days when no matter how bad a guy like Marcum, Wolf, Lohse, Garza, or Suppan was getting shelled every 5 days, they'd get playoff innings because something something you play with the proven veterans who got you there a-derp-a-derp. Roenicke and Yost were fools.

That's a huge loss. When you compare his effectiveness over the first 100 games and then realize that they had to choose between Hall and Milner instead of him, the difference is stark.

Very promising start! It often feels like you can tell right away when Freddy is going to struggle with his command, and he never even had a 3-ball count there. Absolutely hitting his spots even when he's trying to stay out of the zone a little.
