They weren't getting a Burnes haul anyway. This game isn't good for his trade value but I don't think it really impacts it that much.

But yeah I would absolutely trade him.

Yeah, no way you can possibly bring Devin back after this. You can feel bad for him, but he needs to be gone.

Payroll buys you the ability to make personnel errors. So that when a Yelich goes down you’ve still likely got another $20 million dollar bat in the lineup. Or a couple.

The closer choked, man. Nothing else mattered.

When the Bucks or Packers are eliminated it sucks and I'm disappointed but I still have interest in the playoffs. Not so with baseball. Couldn't care less about any of it.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Cue the MLB apologists telling us payroll doesn’t matter.

It's why I stopped getting too emotionally invested in baseball. I've become a giant fair weather fan. Not proud of it, but payroll parity absolutely matters.

I’m a heavy box score watcher and will tune in occasionally. Half the time i watch i feel like they blow it so my motivation will dip even further

Based on the glum looks I saw from folks in brewers gear, I wasn't the only person who decided to go for a walk at my local woodman's after the game.

I genuinely think the earpiece thing was a stalling tactic cuz he didn't want to do this. His body language & pace was really bad.

Not hindsight, but I would have went w/ Peralta for another inning cuz I knew he wanted to be out there (I'm always for riding your top pitcher into the ground in the postseason like I was w/ Burnes), & not finding Devin convincing in big moments from yrs back.

I'm the same way, except this was the first Brewers' game I'd watched in a couple yrs even, & it'll probably be a couple more until I see the next one.

Statistically, baseball is a comparatively localized game. They're more fans of a team than the sport.

Hader literally just allowed 3 inherited runners to score and gave up a run of his own in an elimination game yesterday.

Each crushing end of the season it gets easier to get through the five stages of grief.

It's a lot easier to deal with these losses when you have two other local teams to look forward to. Packers and Bucks are title contenders in their respective sports.

I just want to say I like Devin Williams and it's a shame he couldn't be the hero.

I do feel for Devin. I'm not sure there's anything quite like being a closer in that spot. You could perhaps compare it to missing a FG, or missing a penalty, or missing a FT. But there's the trainwreck aspect of it all - the steady unraveling where everyone's eyes are on you.

I can't imagine what's in his head right now. I wouldn't be able to sleep. It would be torture looking your teammates in the eyes after something like that.
