What about the romantic entanglements of young people? More compelling watch imo than a movie dedicated to companions.

Well, I have known several companions in all my years, and I believe the problem to be not with them, but with the young people of today.

Not sure how widely watched it was but I am burning through The Other Two and it is a big winner for me. Would say it's kin to shows like Hacks and Party Down. Even has Ken Marino. Highly recommend.

The girl talking about the ribbons is probably my favorite line read from the whole show.

One of my friends saw it, said it was bad (he really liked the first one)

Is there a reason everyone banded together to say that The Fall Guy is good? Instantly in the top 10 of my bad movies that people inexplicably like.

Just finished watching the second season of the Rings of Power. I never thought I'd get to the 2nd season after how slow the first season was, but the second season really picked up, and the last couple of episodes especially where sensational.

Spoiler:
The opening scene of the season finale with King Durin leaping at the Balroc was worthy of a movie sequence.

Just had a thought that we don't have any die-hard movie fans here who'll rush to the defense of any movie on the basis of it having been made by professional movie-makers. Well, "be the change you want to see."

Love all these popcorn boi armchair filmmakers thinking THEY know what makes a good movie better than the people who make movies for their whole job.

Hopefully seeing Joker tomorrow. Always down for more divisive films. Thought the first was a noble effort but didn't entirely work for me.

The Fall Guy was good so that's why people have said it was good

Divisive films suck sh*t. You shouldn't have to bend yourself into a pretzel to explain why a movie was enjoyable. I want more films that the overwhelming majority of people can stand up and say, "Yo that was awesome" and when they fail it's because studios didn't do the obvious thing, which is pump more advertising into the message that "HEY COME WATCH THESE INCREDIBLY ENJOYABLE MOVIES".

I want sequels to "The Nice Guys" and "Confess, Fletch".

Wife just signed us up for AppleTv.

Suggestions?

I'm starting For All Mankind. Think I heard that was good.

First two seasons are great. Stop there.

Black Bird was good. Ted Lasso was great but got progressively less-so. I enjoyed Masters of the Air by the time it was finished. Mystic Quest is great with some really standout episodes, but the last season was a step down. So far through a few episodes Bad Monkey is solid.

Other than that, others seem to like Severance, The Afterparty, Pachinko, and Slow Horses.

The best thing Apple TV does is their MLB broadcasts, which seem like they come from 20 years in the future.

For All Mankind is good. While the first two seasons are the best I still like the rest well enough.

Severance is really good imo. Masters of the Air is great. So is Bad Monkey. Black Bird was top notch.

I really, really liked it. Better than it's predecessor for sure but I can see why some wouldn't like it. The vibe reminded me a lot of "Natural Born Killers." One of the issues I had with the first one is that it felt like a pretty good movie with some comic easter eggs thrown in to remind people that they are in fact still watching a DC movie. Part two is very much it's own thing unencumbered by fan service (despite having stretches of a version of the character that feels much closer to the comics) and feels like a more cohesive vision to me as a result. Also, Phoenix's performance, the best part of the first, is even better here.

Silo

I just finished the book trilogy after growing tired of waiting for season 2 (which is only the second half of the first book). The show is so damn good, Rebecca Ferguson is on an unreal heater. They absolutely nailed the casting of the show.
