My international suggestion would include players like Nash, Giannis, Duncan, Manu, Horford, Kirilenko, Arvydas, Yao but the drop would be quick to more 5-8 rotation guys.
I think this is solid and doesn't require any special "no multiple MVP" thing.
So 6 team categories (Denver, Atlanta, Philly, New Jersey, New York, Houston) and a DPOY winner category and an international category.
I think it's ready to come out of the oven! You wanna start it? If not I could, though I may wait until the book is fully closed on the MVP Decades draft.
Just to be clear, how many countries are we looking at that produced a single All-Star?
Hmm. Looks like DB's list wasn't accurate. He suggests Horford and Sabonis could be selected in this category but I believe both the Dominican and Lithuania have 2 All-Stars (Horford/KAT and Domanatas/Ilgauskas, respectively)
Duncan is debatable here as to whether or not the US Virgin Islands counts. We also need to specify place of birth vs nationality, as Steve Nash is only eligible by the former and not the latter (no South African citizenship). Assuming Nash and no Duncan (the way I think it should work) this is what I THINK there is. Note that any countries that have never produced an all star are also eligible.
South Africa- Nash
Russia- AK
Latvia- Porzingis
Argentina- Manu
Greece- Giannis
Finland- Lauri
China- Yao
UK- Deng
Turkey- Okur
Too shallow? I do think it's slightly problematic that both international categories and DPOY categories skew things towards bigmen, now that I really step back and look at it. I like the international category conceptually but it might not be best for the pool.
